Early the next morning, Dyan went out at dawn to see if he could find a car nearby.
There were naturally quite a few abandoned vehicles around. The key issue was whether any of them still had fuel. For now, they didn't need to worry about supplies, but to reach Emberton Town, they would have to pass through two more towns. Traveling on foot simply wasn't an option.
By noon, while Louis was counting the crystal, Dyan finally returned, looking dejected.
The moment he saw Louis, his eyes lit up briefly, only to dim again just as quickly.
Louis lifted his gaze to look at him, then said indifferently, "Sit down for a while."
Only then did Dyan notice what was floating above Louis's palm. They were clearly the crystal taken from the zombies' heads. Knowing that Louis liked these things, Dyan always tried to collect them after killing zombies.
