Chapter fourteen:
Meanwhile, in his office, Lex Luthor could see everything from his window. He smirked as Overgirl was forced to the ground, and was making a phone call.
"Scarecrow, it's time for a little cloud cover." Said Lex Luthor.
Back at the warehouse, Scarecrow stood before a large machine, with a screen that showed news coverage of the attack.
"Right away, Mr. Luthor." Replied Scarecrow as he pressed a button on the keyboard.
As the news cameras displayed the scene of collision, small black dots could be seen descending from the sky.
The camera's looked upwards and audible cries of. "Oh my God!" Could be heard as what looked like hundreds of dots appeared. The dots seemed to be releasing some kind of black vapor, which all morphed together to create a thick cloud like cover.
"It was a good thing of Weather Wizard to loan us his technology." Said Scarecrow.
"Yes. Let's say he loaned them." Replied Lex Luthor.
As the clouds began to thicken, and completely cover the sun, Kailbak rose to his feet. He rose his arms above his head, and was about to cry out in victory, when he felt the earth began to move.
"Uh-oh." Said Kailbak.
Suddenly, he was thrown out of the crater by an almighty punch, and he flew through the streets, crash landing on the tarmac. Lois Lane jumped out of the crater, and landed at Kailbak's feet.
"This ends now, Darkseid, once and for all!" Replied Kara Danvers.
"You got that right, Overgirl. Darkseid is the god of all he sees fit, you are nothing but the pathetic remains of an extinct planet!" Said Kailbak.
"Argh!"
Kara Danvers leaped out of the way, as Kailbak threw another punch, Kailbak then groaned in agony as Kara Danvers shot a beam of optic beams at his back.
"Hey come on now, Kailbak. Don't hog all the fun!" Replied Livewire.
As Kara Danvers turned to face her, Livewire threw electricity at her. As she braced herself against the attack, Kara Danvers took a deep breath and began to blow in her direction, creating a strong wind of ice.
However, as Livewire was frozen in place, Parasite leaped on Kara Danvers back. The latter groaned in agony, as her body crackled with purple hued static. Parasite was slowly draining Kara Danvers of her energy and powers.
"You were always a good feast, Overgirl." Said Parasite.
Kara Danvers struggled against Parasite, and eventually managed to grab hold of his shoulders, before throwing him off. Parasite then fell to his knees, but he barely had time to recover before he was blasted by optic beams of Kara Danvers.
"It's time to burn, big guy!" Replied Kara Danvers.
She blasted Parasite again, as Metallo approached them. Kara Danvers began to blast Metallo with freezing breath, as Livewire, Parasite and Kailbak all laid there dying.
Meanwhile, Lex Luthor watched the events out of hatred.
"This is more satisfying than I ever thought it would be. And the best part? I didn't even have to lift a finger, and I'll get all of the credit. Today, the death of Metropolis, and tomorrow the rebirth of Lex Luthor." Said Lex Luthor.
"Argh!"
Lex Luthor and Mercy Graves spun around. They found Brock and Scarecrow lying on the floor groaning softly, and the office doors were wide open. Two people were standing at the doorway.
"We need to talk." Replied Batman and Wonder Woman.
