Fang felt the gritty mud scream beneath his hard leather boots, then he saw it, the holy court and the hundred of thousands of spirit rings each in its own case.
He pick up his pace and rushed towards the court and shoved him self into the stampede of other boys wating for their own spirit ring.
As the boys argued and bickered with each other Fang just stood their, only one thing on his mind.
The death order, the highest and most respected of all orders, they were the ones who kept the capital safe from stray spirits and dark vampires led by the dark sorcerer Randahn.
The boys all fell silent as the spirit king and Lord Kulgan head of the light vampires Council stood up to the podium,
their voices were loud and powerful
"Today is the day you transition from boys to men" announced lord Kulgan, "As you all know or perhaps should know that every spirit ring is different, but they all share one similaritie, they give the user the ability to kill immortal beings such as vampires and spirits."
As he finished his brief the spirit king stood up to the podium
"The spirit ring you are given will either give you the ability of sorcery and spells, or perhaps for the more brutes of the latter superhuman empowerment: strength, speed and last but not least durability."
The spirit king said,
"Now how to tell your spirit ring apart, a simplistic concept really, sorcerer's rings are blue and superhuman is red.
Now for the exciting part."
He shook his hand and rings flew into boys hands.
Fang caught his with a swift catch, he clenched his hand into a fist until his knuckles turned white, he opened his hand red.
