Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Long ago, in ancient times, when millions of gods existed, there came an era known as the "Era of Bad Days." It was given this name because the gods waged endless wars against one another, destroying everything in their path. They had no king who could restrain them and bring order.

Then a God appeared—one who did not fear them. A God willing to subdue them without fearing their hatred. Thus, he earned the title of King of the Gods. His name was Licht, the God of Light.

Licht created the Council of Gods, where all matters concerning the world and the gods themselves were decided. The gods worshiped him, loved him, and regarded him as their savior.

However, Licht was different all along. In truth, he was mad, cruel, arrogant, and malicious. When the gods realized who he truly was after only a few days of his reign, they wished to overthrow him from the throne. Fear, however, would not allow it.

And so Licht continues to rule…

to this very day.

The Residence of the God Licht

Chyproe, Goddess of Divination, enters the residence.

Chyproe: Licht! Licht!

Licht: What is going on? Don't you know that even I, the greatest God, must sleep?

Chyproe: Yes, I know, but I had a prophecy about—

Licht: Oh my god! So you had a prophecy? Couldn't it wait until tomorrow morning?

Chyproe: It concerns your removal from the throne.

Licht: What?! Tell me everything!

Chyproe: One day, you will be overthrown by a male god.

Licht: I truly didn't expect that… that it would be a god. (sarcastically)

Chyproe: And that god is the son of your brother, Emit, the God of Time.

Licht: Excellent, Chyproe. And now, if you will excuse me… Aurelius!

Aurelius: Yes, my lord!

Licht: Bring me Emit. And his brat as well.

Aurelius: As you command, my lord!

After Aurelius left, Chyproe asked Licht with fear in her voice.

Chyproe: What do you intend to do?

Licht: What I must.

Chyproe: And what is that?

Licht: I will take the child from his arms, force him to kneel, and make him watch as I kill his son.

Chyproe: You can't be serious! He is your brother's child! He is still an infant!

Licht: Exactly. As long as a god is under five years old, he is not immortal. And while he is not immortal, I can kill him. Once immortality is attained, no one will be able to kill him—

not even the gods.

Chyproe was horrified. In that moment, she regretted ever telling Licht about the prophecy.

One hour later.

Aurelius: We are here, Lord Licht!

Licht: Finally!

???: What does this mean?!

Licht: Calm yourself, Emit.

Emit: Calm myself? Your soldier wakes me and orders me to come to you with my son. How am I supposed to stay calm?

Licht: Chyproe, please, tell him.

Chyproe: I had a prophecy that Licht would be overthrown from the throne by a god—and that god was your son.

Emit froze. He was shocked, and at the same time terrified—above all, because of Licht.

Emit: That can't be true—

Licht: Oh, come now, Emit. You know very well that Chyproe and her prophecies are never wrong. And now, my brother, give me your son.

Emit: You will never touch my son!

Licht: Should I take that as treason?

Emit: Take it however you want!

Licht: Aurelius, take the child from my brother. And if he resists—defeat him.

Aurelius: But gods cannot be killed.

Licht: That is true—and more than you realize. Here, take this sword of divine metal.

Divine metal cannot take a god's life, but it can weaken us or strip us of our divine power for several hours. Our immortality remains, but without divine power it is meaningless. Now go and do what I commanded.

Aurelius: As you wish!

Emit: Aurelius, please, don't do this. I don't want to hurt you.

Aurelius: It is too late for that, God of Time.

Aurelius prepared to strike, but the moment he moved, Emit stopped him. Aurelius froze, as if turned to stone. His time had been suspended—and with it, he himself. Then Emit blasted him away with a powerful surge, hurling him into the wall.

Licht: Excellent, brother. You are still strong. Even so, you must give me the child. And I would still consider you my brother and my right hand.

Emit: Absolutely not!

Emit then did something that was unbearably difficult for any father. He cast the spell "Tempus Sigillum," which means "Time Capsule." This spell can send any object, living being, building—indeed, even an entire planet—to any place and to any time: the past, the present, and above all, the future.

And so he used it.

Emit: Tempus Sigillum 🪄

He sent his son far into the future.

Licht, however, was enraged.

Licht: Now I will show you why no one dares to anger me.

Emit: Then show me!

Licht and Emit clashed. ⚔️

They fought one another with every ounce of strength they possessed, knowing that only one of them could emerge victorious.

Licht grasped the sword forged from divine metal. Though Emit resisted fiercely and it seemed impossible for Licht to win, he still managed to pierce Emit's body🗡️, stripping him of his divine powers for several hours.

Afterward, he bound him in chains and brought him before the Council of Gods, where Emit's fate would be decided.

??? (1): That is impossible!

??? (2): Banish him!

??? (3): That punishment is too weak.

??? (2): Then kill him!

??? (4): Gods cannot be killed.

Licht roared.

Licht: Silence!!!

I know what shall be done with Emit. At last, we will make use of that place… the place known as Tartarus.

At the sound of that name, the countless gods of the Council were struck with fear.😱Tartarus was the greatest prison of all—and also the most dreadful. It was a place meant for gods who had betrayed the King of the Gods, Licht himself.

Emit was to become its first prisoner and traitor.

Any god imprisoned in Tartarus was stripped of their divine power for the entire duration of their confinement. Immortality remained—but in such a place, it was utterly meaningless.

Emit accepted his fate. And all the gods agreed that he should be cast into Tartarus.

Licht laughed.🤣He laughed as only he could.

Then Licht commanded all the gods to search for Emit's son. Yet no one found him—and Licht was enraged.

And that meant only one thing.

If Emit's son could not be found, then hope still existed. Hope to overthrow Licht from the throne… and to bring an end to his cruel reign.

And thus, our story begins.
