Chapter 67 - Chapter 67 I've Seen It All

"Gentlemen, which of you would like to find your wand first? Believe me, it will be a magical experience."

Ollivander scrambled down from the high ladder, a kindly smile on his face as he looked at Makiya and Harry.

"Harry, you go first."

Little Harry choosing a wand would cause quite a stir. To avoid being caught in the crossfire, Makiya took two steps back and stood by the door.

Harry didn't hesitate, looking at Ollivander with hopeful eyes.

After a series of measurements, Ollivander pondered for a moment before pulling a wand from a nearby shelf.

"Harry, it seems like only yesterday your parents were in here buying their first wands. Time flies so fast."

He handed the wand to Harry. Little Harry took it, feeling a bit at a loss.

"Give it a wave."

A scene familiar from the original story unfolded before Makiya's eyes. Harry waved the wand, and the uncontrolled magic turned the little shop into a mess.

After trying two more in quick succession, Ollivander kept shaking his head. Then, as if remembering a certain prophecy, his expression turned solemn. He pulled a dusty box from deep within the shelves.

"I think... it should be this one."

Ollivander solemnly handed the wand to Harry.

The moment he took it, the dim chandelier suddenly burst with brilliant light. A strange wind swept through the shop from nowhere. Makiya reached his hand into the wind, feeling a unique magic resonating within.

"Curious, how very curious," Ollivander marveled. Taking the wand back from Harry, he began to recount the history of the wand.

"The core of this wand is... blah blah... the one held by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is also... gibberish... the wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter. Some things cannot be explained clearly, but... one thing I am very sure of."

Ollivander slowly approached Harry: "...Mr. Potter, you are destined for great things! He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things—terrible, yes, but great!"

Little Harry's eyes widened. As Ollivander spoke, a sense of destiny welled up within him. He didn't know what he would face in the future, but at this moment, he felt incredible and knew he had to buy this wand.

In truth, beyond the destiny foretold in the wizarding world, a fragment of Voldemort's soul had resided within Harry as he grew, naturally attracting the choice of a brother wand.

Harry paid readily. Although seven galleons was expensive, he felt it was worth every bit. A sense of honor enveloped him; his magnificent magical journey was about to begin, and such emotional value could not be bought for any price.

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was powerful and terrifying, his legends seemingly everywhere in the wizarding world. The wand he used must have been extraordinary, and the one in Harry's hand was its brother!

At this moment, the little tycoon Harry even felt that seven galleons was a bargain.

Lost in thought, little Harry ran over to the stack of books by the door, clutching his wand and wondering about the future.

Makiya rubbed his hands together. It was finally his turn. He had tested wands on WeChat mini-programs and in 'Magic Awakened' before, but he wondered what kind of wand he would get in this life.

"Mr. Maki, first of all, congratulations on entering Hogwarts. Believe me, it is the best school in the world, and you have a bright future ahead of you!" Ollivander winked and then asked, "Which is your wand hand?"

"The right hand."

"Very well, please hold out your arms. I need to take some measurements." Ollivander beckoned, and a set of measuring tools hopped off the counter, climbing onto Makiya to begin their work.

The length of his palms, the proportion of his forearms, shoulder width, torso length, height, and other data were recorded one by one. The tools even measured the distance between his eyes, the width of his forehead, and the bridge of his nose.

'He could understand measuring arm length, but what did the width of his nose have to do with choosing a wand?'

The last time Makiya had seen such a rigorous physical examination was during the mustache man's "census" policies in Germany.

Sensing the doubt in Makiya's eyes, Ollivander began to explain his underlying logic while working, 'empowering' the wand selection process.

"Every wand is unique because the personalities of the magical creatures that provide the cores differ, and the wood's characteristics vary with their environment. Thus, every wand has its own personality and preferences. It is the wand that chooses the wizard, not the wizard who chooses the wand."

Looking at Makiya's physical data, Ollivander thought for a moment before pulling a wand from the shelf. "A wand and a wizard grow together, establishing a magical bond through long-term use. Even wands with similar personalities will develop different traits after bonding... Oak, dragon heartstring, eleven inches. Try it out—just like what Mr. Potter did, give it a wave."

Makiya took the wand and, after a thought, kindly cautioned, "Mr. Ollivander, I saw the damage Harry just caused... I'm worried I might make an even bigger mess..."

"Oh, Mr. Maki, please don't worry." Ollivander smiled warmly. "Don't hold back. Only by releasing your magic fully can we find the right wand. As for any damage, it doesn't matter at all."

Ollivander shook his head inwardly, thinking what a polite boy he was. But the old man had seen everything...

Zzz... Boom!!!

A blinding light suddenly erupted, followed by a violent explosion. Intense vibrations rippled through the wooden structure as clouds of dust drifted down from above.

Vague screams of panic could be heard from the street outside.

Ollivander's smile froze. He looked up with difficulty, and the clear blue sky came into view.

Part of the second-floor loft had vanished, and a large chunk of the top ceiling was gone. Restless magic clung to the edges of the gap; clearly, a Mending Charm would be useless here.

Little Harry looked on in horror. He glanced at his own wand, then at Makiya, and then gave Ollivander a suspicious look. 'Was this guy just fooling me earlier?'

"Sorry, Mr. Ollivander!"

Makiya quickly placed the wand back on the counter with both hands.

'How strange. The magic pumping from the Heart of Darkness was well-controlled within his body, yet it went out of control the moment it entered the wand. If he hadn't pulled back in time, it wouldn't have been as simple as just blowing a hole in the ceiling.'

"Oh, it's nothing, nothing at all!" Ollivander snapped out of it, his gaze toward Makiya becoming even more fervent. "Clearly, this wand isn't for you. Let's try another."

He nimbly pulled another from the shelf. "Unicorn hair core, willow wood, ten and three-quarter inches."

Before handing it to Makiya, Ollivander hesitated and said, "Mr. Maki, when you wave the wand this time, could you please aim it at that hole?"

"...Of course."
