The office was quiet, the hum of computers and the faint smell of coffe filling the air. Mia was finishing up her work, trying to ignore the tension that had been building since her first encounter with Alexander.
"You work late," he said suddenly, appearing at the doorway. His voice was calm, but there was an edge to it that made her pulse race.
"I like to get a head start," she replied, keeping her tone professional, even though her hands trembled slightly.
He stepped closer, the air between them thickening. "You're ambitious… and reckless. Dangerous combination."
Her stomach tightened, a thrill running through her. " Why are you staring at me like that ?"
He leaned in, so close she could feel the heat radiating off him. "Because… I can't stop."
Mia's breath hitched. He was dangerously close, and she knew that one wrong move could change everything.
"I…should go," she stammered, trying to regain composure, but her legs felt like they were made of lead.
Alexander's gaze softened for a moment, then sharpened, almost possessive. "You need to be careful Mia… some lines, once crossed, can't be undone."
Before she could ask what he meant, he traced a finger lightly long her jawline, his voice a low whisper only she could hear:
