Chapter 19-uh, who is controlling my body right now?!
The roar of the crowd was deafening, the cheers blending with the rhythmic pounding of hooves against turf. The race had begun. The gates clanged open, and the horses shot out, their powerful strides echoing through the air. Symboli Rudolf, feeling the weight of Japan's expectations on her shoulders, surged forward with the rest of the field, but something didn't feel right.
The mid stretch was always the hardest. Every muscle tensed, every instinct screamed to push forward, but today it felt different. The wind in her mane, the familiar thrum of adrenaline, it all seemed... off. Her body was not responding as it should.
The race had begun. The moment the gates opened, hooves thundered down the track, and Symboli Rudolf, feeling the weight of expectations from Japan's eyes, surged forward. But from the very first stretch, something didn't feel right.
Announcer 1: "And they're off! Dahar takes an early lead, as expected. But Symboli Rudolf seems to be lagging behind, not keeping up with the pace."
Rudolf tried to push forward, but it felt like something was holding her back. Her legs felt sluggish, and her breath, usually so steady, was ragged and sharp. The wind in her mane was there, but it didn't carry the usual thrill. No matter how hard she pushed, she couldn't find her rhythm.
Announcer 2: "Symboli Rudolf is known for her speed, her precision. But today, she's just hanging with the pack. Could this be the pressure of racing internationally? or a new timed stratdegy?"
The field stretched out before her, the horse girls in front of her moving with such effortless grace, and yet, despite her years of training, she couldn't keep pace. Every stride felt heavier, every corner sharper, but she was losing ground. Why was this happening?
As the race moved into the middle section, it became clear: Symboli Rudolf wasn't just behind; she was fading. The overwhelming sense of failure gripped her chest. "I can't keep up. I can't win this race. Maybe I'm not meant to compete here…" The thought was a bitter pill, and she swallowed it as her legs began to burn with every step.
Announcer 3: "And we're past the halfway point. Dahar continues to lead. Symboli Rudolf has slipped back to 6th place. She's fading fast, folks. It doesn't look like she has the strength to catch up."
The world around her seemed to blur as the pack surged ahead. Each stride, each corner, felt like a battle. Her body was fighting her, slowing, not responding to her commands. Her usual strength, the confidence in her stride, was nowhere to be found. She pushed, but there was nothing to push against. She felt like she was running in quicksand, slipping further behind. "I've failed... This is it."
Announcer 1: "We are witnessing a race that is slipping through Symboli Rudolf's fingers. The race, once in her control, now seems to belong to Dahar and Strawberry Road II. Can she rally? Can she fight back?"
Maybe I'm just not enough. The thought pierced her like a dagger. The wind in her ears became distant, the cheers of the crowd almost muffled, as the weight of her failure began to crush her spirit. It felt like she was no longer racing; she was just... running, empty.
The finish line, once so close, now seemed unreachable. Dahar and Strawberry Road II had pulled ahead, their backs growing smaller with each passing second. She felt the tight grip of doubt clouding her mind. Maybe she wasn't as strong as she thought. Maybe she wasn't the one they all believed her to be. Even then, she still kept fighting her domain active, but it was only contending with the other domains, and she was even being slightly suppressed!
But then, just as the weight of despair began to settle in, something... strange happened.
Kaiya Sora's POV:
Kaiya Sora watched the race unfold from a distant world. He had just wrapped up his own victory, his perfect body performing flawlessly as he dominated on the American circuit. But even with his SS-level stats, he couldn't help but feel… disconnected.
Why did it feel wrong? Why did his perfect body not feel perfect right now?
Rudolf's POV:
Suddenly, it wasn't just her failing anymore. It wasn't just her body that was out of sync. Why does it feel like something is pulling me back? Rudolf felt a strange shift in the air, as if the track itself was resisting her.
And then, it happened. A flicker. A pulse of energy surged through her body, a force that wasn't from her, a sensation she couldn't explain.
Her legs, heavy, sluggish, suddenly felt lighter. It wasn't a momentary burst. No, it was something that lingered, something that was starting to take hold of her. Every stride that had once felt painful now surged with newfound purpose. "What is this? Why does it feel like my body is moving... on its own?"
She blinked, confusion clouding her thoughts. Is this... my body, or is someone else... controlling it?
As the pack pulled further ahead, she watched, stunned, as her body began to surge forward with a newfound fluidity she didn't recognize. Her steps became more powerful, more coordinated. The sluggishness was gone. But she wasn't in control.
Kaiya Sora's POV:
The realization hit him like a thunderclap. Wait. No. This isn't possible. He watched, confused, as he saw himself: his body, but not in the way he knew it. His legs moved, but slower, heavier. He could still sense the strength of his SS body, but it wasn't operating in the way he had always known. His own body, the one he had honed to perfection, was so stiff and hard to use. "What a raw body, how long has it been since I used such a raw uma body in a race of G1 level?" He unleashed a lot of stamina recovery, velcoity, and acceleration skills.
Rudolf (floating, confused):
Her body moved without her, each stride growing smoother, faster, and more precise. It wasn't her, it couldn't be her, but it was moving with the kind of precision she had never known. It felt as though her body had transcended her will, moving beyond her control.
And then, without warning, something cracked. It was in the Uma Musume racer plane, every domain weild uma felt it. A new Domain was born in an Uma girl racer on this track. The surge of energy filled her, a Domain, an aura, Rodolph's connection with her body let her feel it. It wasn't like the Emperor's Domain she had used before, her's was imposing, trying to supress other and break them. No, this was something new, something different. It felt... natural, softer, around you, firm, but inevitable. It felt like the track had opened itself to her, as though she had become part of it.
Rudolf's body sliced through the air, pulling past Dahar and Strawberry Road II, her ultimate skill flaring into action, the vibrant energy swirling around her as she drew closer to the finish line. She was no longer just Symboli Rudolf. She had become the embodiment of the race, the embodiment of victory.
"What is this?" she thought, her voice full of wonder, "Is this me? Is this my true potential?"
Strawberry Road II "How is this possible?! Wasn't she out of energy, how is she pulling up"
Dahar "turns out you were acting to get me and strawberry II to fight." They tried to catch up, skill unleashed skill after skill of practice skills, chained together in an unending flow of stat boosting. The other 4 in the back were looking on in shock and thinking, "Why were you hanging with us in the back if you were this fast?"
Her legs, once heavy and unresponsive, now moved with impossible grace. She was gliding through the track as if it was her natural state, her body, now fully under control, responding to her will. Each step became more precise, more powerful, her Domain flowing through the course with an unstoppable force.
The finish line neared, and the realization struck her like a bolt of lightning.
She wasn't just racing. She was creating miracles.
