Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

AMY'S WILD LIFE

Amy's laughter rang through the dormitory courtyard like a bell, loud and carefree. Her friends circled her, clapping and teasing, while she twirled with an air of reckless confidence.

"C'mon, Amy! One more dance!" shouted one of the boys.

Amy rolled her eyes but smiled. "Fine, fine. Just one more."

She didn't notice the professor walking past, eyebrows raised in disapproval. She didn't care. The rules, the warnings, the lectures—they were all invisible to her world. To Amy, life was meant to be lived fast and loud.

Later, in the cafeteria, she ignored her food and scrolled through her phone, laughing at texts from Zane, her college boyfriend who thrived on chaos as much as she did.

"You're late again," a senior girl chided her. "You'll fail your exams if you keep this up."

Amy smirked. "Exams are overrated. Life's more interesting."

Her friends giggled, but one of them frowned. "Be careful, Amy. You're pushing it too far."

"Pushing it is the fun part," Amy replied, tossing her hair.

Back at home, Juliana sat in the living room, knitting quietly. She had learned long ago to let Amy have her freedom—but the worry never left her.

"She's going to get hurt one day," Juliana murmured, almost to herself.

Ana, who had just returned from her evening study session, heard her mother but didn't respond. She knew words alone couldn't change Amy's choices.

The next week brought the first real consequence. Amy skipped a major test to attend a late-night party. She returned home the next morning exhausted, confident she had gotten away with it.

Juliana confronted her gently, but firmly. "Amy, school is not optional. Your choices have consequences."

Amy shrugged. "Relax, Mom. I've got this."

Juliana's hands trembled slightly. "You're smart, Amy. Don't waste it chasing… this."

"This" Amy waved at the empty air, smirking, before running off to meet Zane.

At college, things escalated quickly. Amy got into a heated argument with a professor who had warned her multiple times about her behavior.

"I don't care about your rules!" she shouted. "You can't control me!"

Her outburst caused a scene. Other students whispered and stared. Amy left the lecture hall with her head held high, unaware that the fallout had just begun.

By evening, she received a call from the dean's office. Her scholarship was at risk, and her conduct was under review.

Amy stared at her phone, smirking at first. Then a flicker of worry crossed her face.

For the first time, Amy realized—her choices weren't consequences-free.

And somewhere deep down, she knew the coming days would test not just her rebellion… but the bond she shared with her sister and her family.
