Zain left the guildmaster after saying that. He said his goodbye to Sarah and everyone in the guild.
Since it was already the evening, Zain decided to go and call it a day. He ate his dinner and went to sleep.
The following day, Zain decided to explore outside the border of the Kingdom. He left and visited the nearby village.
The village mostly had small wooden houses and tents. It had small people, about 60-110 people. They lived near the forest, not the dark forest.
In this world it looks like there's a finite number of forests.
The village people rely on hunting and selling items or ingredients to live by. They harvest fruit and vegetables in the forest as well as herbs to live by.
There's not many hunters or adventures in the village.
Zain looked around the village and realise that these people are broke but at peace. There's no crime happening here like in the commoner district. Everyone is doing whatever they want without interfering with the other. It's like they are united, they help each other.
The kids are playing.
The women are doing they're work like fetching water, doing house chores & harvesting plants & food.
The men are hunting and others are skinning the dead animals.
The old are guiding the young by telling stories of the old age.
The village is not perfect but it's calm.
After Zain fetching looking around the village, he decided to check the forest nearby.
While he was walking to the forest, he saw a mother and a daughter harvesting plants. He decided to watch them for a while.
"That's how you pick the herb Seren. You gotta pick with its roots." The woman said to her daughter.
The woman appeared to be in her mid 20s and the child around 7-10 years old. The woman and child are wearing some old clothes and a worn out shoes.
"Yes Mom." The child said to her mother.
"Lets finish picking up herbs so we can go pick up some food."
"Yes Mom."
The woman picked up some herbs while talking with her daughter. Zain thought to himself, 'Wait. Am I a stalker or pedophile? Either way it's not good.'
"Be careful with that one Seren. It's poisonous."
"I'm sorry Mom. I didn't know."
"Of course you didn't, you're just learning on how to harvest some herbs. That's why I'm here to teach you."
"Okay Mom. Why don't we look for herbs inside a forest Mom?"
"NO SEREN!! Whatever you do, don't enter the forest. Monsters live in there and they eat children."
Zain thought,'I guess every good mother are like that.'
"I understand Mom."
Zain was about to leave when he sense a monster heading in the direction of the mother & daughter. He sense a bunch of people chasing the monster.
He walked passed the parent and child. The child and mother saw Zain passing them, the mother protected her mother behind her.
"Who are you?" The mother said to Zain in frightened voice while he hugged her daughter with all her might.
Zain looked at her and smiled at her. After looking at them, he looked towards the forest and realised that the monster is already near them.
A monster appeared from the forest, it looked like a wolf. A direwolf but this one was small.
It had a blue fur around its body and a little bit of white fur around its head. It looked furious and barring its fangs towards Zain.
The people appeared behind it with spears and swords as well as shields.
The direwolf saw Zain standing still and headed straight towards him.
"That's dumb." Zain said out loud.
*REGAL FORCE*
The direwolf fell to ground while it was running and slid on the ground towards Zain. It stopped near Zain's feet.
The people behind the direwolf, saw the wolf fell to the ground as soon as it saw the man and they stopped immediately. They stopped 30 meters away from the man as they raised their weapons.
"WHO ARE YOU?" They said out loud since they were far away from one another.
"Relax. I won't do anything." Zain said to them.
"WHAT? SPEAK LOUDER."
"Haha." Zain chuckled to himself with gesture of looking around himself and looked at them. "I SAID RELAX." Zain said out loud to them.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT RELAX?"
"Haha." Zain chuckled with the same gesture as before.
"MY NAME IS NOT RELAX. YOU DON'T NEED WORRY. I'M SAFE."
"OKAY. WHAT DO YOU WANT SAFE? THAT IS OUR PREY SAFE."
"Haha." Zain chuckled and thought, 'This is ridiculous.'
"OKAY. IT'S STILL ALIVE. COME FOWARD TO KILL IT."
"WHAT!!! ARE YOU SURE ITS STILL ALIVE? IT LOOKS DEAD. ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US, SAFE?"
"COME AND CHECK. NONE OF YOU WILL DIE TODAY."
"WHAT! SO YOU'RE PLANNING TO KILL US TOMORROW THEN?."
The mother and child behind Zain became too scared when they heard that. Zain saw them and said, "It's not like that. I'm not going to kill you. Please understand."
One man came forward to check the direwolf. He was moving in fear while carrying his sword in attack but still walked towards Zain and the direwolf.
Zain stepped back a little with his hands surrendering. The man who came forward realise that the direwolf was indeed still alive. "IT'S STILL ALIVE." he said toward his group.
"THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR. KILL IT FOOL."
The man stabbed the direwolf in the head. After he stabbed it, the remaining man came forward. Few checked the direwolf while the others was looking at Zain suspiciously.
They were 7 men all wearing hunting clothes. A leading covering their chest and back. Long clothes covering the entire body and the clothes all looked worn out.
One man came forward to talk to Zain.
"So you must be Safe. What do you want Safe?" The man asked Zain in suspicion.
"Nothing. I was about to leave and sense you guys chasing the direwolf that was heading towards those people, probably the village too. So I just wanted to protect them." Zain said as he pointed to the mother and child.
"So you just showed up, sense us chasing the wolf and wanted to just protect them without expecting a reward. What do you real want Safe?"
"I told you. I want nothing and my name is not Safe."
"Really. You want Nothing. Okay then can you help us take this prey to the village?"
"Yeah sure, I can help." Zain went to the direwolf, picked it up and put it in his right shoulder while it's blood dripping all over his back.
"Okay then. Let's go." Zain said as he walked towards the village. Everyone was shocked and surprised that he picked it up with ease. They were surprised that Zain looked like he didn't care that the blood was dripping all over him because they saw that he was wearing high quality clothes.
They followed behind Zain as well as the mother and child. They were carrying all the herbs they harvested.
They all walked towards the village. Zain stopped at the entrance of the village and looked behind him.
"I just realised. I don't know were I'm supposed to take this. So can someone lead the way."
They all realised that Zain was new to the village and understood that he was right.
One man came forward to lead the way.
