Jordan didn't sleep.
When it hit, it hit like fire.
Bones snapped. Skin tore. Teeth pushed through gums with wet, awful sounds. He screamed until his throat bled.
Raven held him down.
"Don't fight it," she shouted.
"I AM," Jordan roared as his spine arched unnaturally.
He changed wrong.
Too fast. Too violent.
When it was over, the room was wrecked. Walls clawed apart. Blood everywhere.
Jordan stood naked and shaking, taller now. Broader. Eyes glowing.
Elias stared. "That's not beta shit."
Malik said nothing.
He just bowed his head slightly.
The pack felt it.
So did the vampires.
