Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Invading The Yas and Kaz Bases

Eliana walked into the alleyway with Ralts settled into her arms,

She looked around the alleyway before looking up to the tall building next to it. Eliana briefly scanned the minds in the building to confirm that this was the base. I see, they took over a warehouse, how original.

As they walked into the building's open garage doors, a young woman sitting at a desk near the entrance called out, "Who's there? The boss isn't accepting visitors right now!"

The woman, who had very short hair and an arm full of tattoos, looked up from her magazine with a bored expression and froze when she saw who it was. "You... you're..."

"The one who took out your group from last night? Yes," Eliana confirmed, walking towards the main warehouse floor. "Take me to your this leader Yas."

"There's no way I can do that!" the young woman stammered, her bravado shattering like glass. "Leader Yas has given orders to not let you near him!"

"That's too bad, me and him are going to have a little chat," Eliana said, her footsteps echoing in the vast, dusty space. Ralts made a smug noise, cheekily sticking its tongue out at the woman, "His gang started something with me and I'm going to finish it, at the source of the problem."

"Hey, no! Stop there or I will have to use force!" The woman said while nervously holding a PokéBall out at her.

Eliana raised an eyebrow and the woman felt her mind get invaded before everything went black. The woman fell to the ground with a dull thud. Eliana bent over and checked her pulse, "Good I just knocked her unconscious, I've never tried that before."

Ralts gave her a questioning look and Eliana responded, "I just wanted to see if I could use my abilities to knock someone out, there's no point in killing her now."

Ralts rolled its eyes at the response and began scanning the garage to find any threats. After identifying them all Ralts sent out a Psyshock taking out all the Pokémon and humans indiscriminately.

Eliana stepped completely into the building while looking at their fallen opponents,

Ralts gave an affirmative nod as it got out of Eliana's arms and started to use its powers to levitate. Eliana gave it a shocked expression,

(¬ᴗ ´¬ ), Ralts made a smug expression, it had the power of Mew of course it could leviate!

Ralts feigned a hurt expression, it never said it couldn't do this, it just like being carried. Truly it was his trainer Eliana's fault for not asking , (¬`‸´¬).

Eliana told Ralts to follow her as she walked up the stairs to the second floor. There were a few more members on the stairs, but they were taken down quickly with a wave of Confusion. Eliana thought that she was very lucky to not have come across a dark type yet.

The second floor held an empty hallway and led to an open door for a large office. A man in a ridiculously opulent suit, it obviously had to be Leader Yas, sat behind a large, ornate desk. He looked up from the newspaper he was reading as they came in. He didn't look surprised.

"So, the little monster decided to come to me," he said, his voice a low, calm rumble. He didn't get up. "You're either brave or stupid, I haven't decided which."

Ralts made an angry frown but didn't attack due to being stopped by Eliana.

"I just came to end this little war in this town," Eliana said as she stopped in front of the desk. "The Kaz leader is dead and soon his group will be taken care of."

Leader Yas raised an eyebrow, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes. "Kaz, dead? You work fast." He folded the newspaper neatly, placing it to the side. "And you think by killing me, you'll bring peace to this town?"

"I think by killing you, there will be one less gang leader I have to worry about," Eliana countered, her expression unchanging.

The man laughed, a dry, rasping sound. "Child, you don't understand. This city is a disease. I'm not the cause, I'm just a symptom. You cut me out, and another will grow back in my place. Stronger and nastier."

"That won't be my problem, I'll be out of this town by then." Mingxi pointed out, already bored with the conversation.

"So you're not doing this out of some misplaced attempt to be a hero then?" Leader Yas actually looked surprised when he said this.

"No, I'm ending the situation your people started." Eliana answered and before the man could answer, her eyes flashed blue and his mouth fell open.

"Cool, this mind control thing is actually pretty easy," Eliana chirped, "Tell me, how many people are a part of this gang?"

"Aside from a few stragglers, it's only the people in this warehouse." Leader Yas answered the question in a trance.

"What a small gang…" Eliana grumbled but got a message from Ralts, "You're right tha does make them easier to deal with."

"Tell me where the Kaz headquarters are." Eliana commanded.

"On the other side of town, they took over the old shopping center."

"Nice, you've outlasted your usefulness to me!" Eliana chirped ending her control over the man, the Yas leader could only blink disorientedly before being taken out with a Psyshock for good.

Ralts looked down at Eliana from his levitating position above her with a questioning look in his eyes, "Yes you're right we'll be taking out the Kaz now!"

The two left the warehouse and started to walk to the other side of town.

Eliana and Ralts had just finished cleaning up the last of the Kaz goons, they really weren't prepared for an invasion. Even though these guys released their Pokémon they were easier than the Yas group. Psychic types really were uncommon in Kanto. Eliana still doesn't understand how these groups ran uncontested for so long. She supposed the townspeople here were too scared to do anything so they got cocky. But with their leaders gone the stragglers that weren't at the bases wouldn't have enough power to do anything.

"Well that's taken care of," Eliana said while looking around the old shopping center, "We should go back to that restaurant now, I want another bowl of Biang Biang Noodles."

Ralts happily chirped at the thought, the food there was surprisingly good.

The two walked back to the restaurant to find the door once again hanging open, and the Jones family still hiding behind the counter. Bo looked up as Eliana walked in and let out a sigh of relief, "You're okay! We heard the fighting and then there was silence, so we thought..."

"It wasn't me who you needed to be worried about," Eliana said, taking a seat at the same table as before.

"You… you took care of them all?" Kayley asked, peaking her head over the counter.

"Both gangs are gone," Eliana confirmed, her tone casual. "The city should be quieter for a while."

The silence that followed was heavy with a different kind of weight. Not fear, but disbelief. Bo slowly straightened up, looking around his ruined restaurant as if seeing it for the first time.

"We're free," Kyle whispered, the words small and fragile.

"Don't get too happy," Eliana said, a hint of annoyance returning to her voice, "If your mayor doesn't do something, things will just go back to the way it was before."

Bo sighed in a depressed way, "The mayor only cares about money, he most likely won't do anything."

"Oh," Eliana paused, "Well anyways, Ralts and I want another bowl of Biang Biang Noodles."

"I…Noodles..?" Bo looked at the young girl in front of him with pure disbelief, "You want food?"

"Yes, dealing with gangs make you hungry." Eliana commented while Ralts made a hungry face in agreement, (˶˃𐃷˂˶).

The sheer audacity of it pulled Zheng Bo out of his shock. He let out a short, sharp laugh that was half sob. "Of course, noodles, coming right up!"

He shuffled back to the kitchen, and Eliana could hear the renewed sounds of life. The clatter was less frantic now, more purposeful. The children emerged from behind the counter, their movements still hesitant, but their eyes were bright.

"Is it really over?" Kayley asked again, approaching the table.

"For now," Eliana replied. "Like I said, depends on what happens next."

"My mom," Kyle said quietly, looking at his shoes. "She always said a storm would come and wash the scum away. She'd be happy."

Eliana didn't know what to say to that, so she just nodded. She wasn't a storm, she was more of a tornado. Efficient and gone when the job was done.

After a few minutes, Bo returned with two bowls. Unlike earlier these two bowls were filled with much more meat. He set them down, and this time, Ralts didn't need prompting. It picked up its chopsticks, Eliana still didn't understand how exactly it did that (maybe using Confusion), and dug in. Its thoughts of appreciation flowed into Eliana's mind: This one is more filling.

While the townspeople began to come out of their homes when the daily battle between the gangs didn't happen, Eliana and Ralts happily ate their meal.
