Chapter 36 - The Blood Moon

Slowly, blood covers the moon and Gwanhoya looks delighted by her achievement and happy. Finally, what she had failed to achieve when she was alive, she is now going to achieve it and destroy the world and from it a new one to be born.

Mukura and Gurudza at this point have been awakened late but not too late thanks to the young goddess who came to Gurudza's rescue. Will they be able to stop Gwanhoya now that she is so close to opening the door way to the demon realm? At this desperate time, Wezhira is nowhere to be found and Genteel and Garamba are exhausted because of the continuous battles.

This is the beginning of the end and the salubrious environment is becoming toxic to be in and a strong loud wind blowing.

Genteel shouts to Gurudza and Mukura, "You two need to leave right now!"

They both rush into the portal to the other side where the cave of Gwanhoya is. Mukura looks around searching for it and to her surprise it has been restored and is standing.

She drags Gurudza showing him the direction where it is and both of them make haste.

Appearing beside Gwanhoya, Surgat with a smile on his demonic face and he compliments her, "It seems you have made progress this time Gwanhoya!"

She gets up and bows and replies, "It is not over yet, my lord!"

He places his hands behind his back, "Yes, yes indeed it is not over yet!" he agrees with and warns her, "It seems like you have company!"

"The Wezhira god chosen ones?"

"Yes, whoever they are, finish them before they disrupt the process and render the efforts meaningless!"

"Yes, lord!" she gets up and goes to meet them.

At Alabaster Weald!

Genteel and Garamba walking into the Alabaster Weald village lifting up Tofireyi and Taruziva's bodies. Garamba is looking uneasy and wants to follow Gurudza and Mukura who have gone to face Gwanhoya at her cave.

"Why did you let them go there alone? What if something happens to them?" she questions Genteel with a grumpy face.

"They have to fight this battle alone and we are not to interfere with it!" she replies.

"What happens if we interfere?" she keeps on throwing questions at Genteel!

"You and them might die!"

She does not ask anymore after hearing this and continues silently with Genteel leading the way.

Near Gwanhoya's Cave!

Floating in the air looking at them run to her cave she smiles and follows behind them silently masking her presence from them and they are not even turning to look sideways for anything but just headed for the cave.

"I thought after that fight they would be exhausted and yet here they are amped up and ready to fight!"

They reach the cave and the first thing they notice is her bone stuff lying on the ground and besides it a simple drawn and stained by blood.

Mukura squats down and touches the blood, "This might be where she performed the last rites of humanity!"

He laughs softly, "She is a good artist!" he admires her drawing.

Mukura looks at him disappointed, "Seriously?"

He looks at the entrance of into the cave, "Let us focus at the task at hand!"

She nods her head in agreement, "I think that would be for the best right!"

"I really think you two dying would be for the best! Do you not think so also?" Gwanhoya's voice comes from behind them

They startle and turn quickly and to their surprise they see no one there. Circumspect looking for her walking slowly around with eagle eyes.

She laughs, "Do not look for me, kids! Because you will not find me!" she appears behind Gurudza, who turns quickly but she reacts faster and punch him in the stomach and he falls to the ground.

Disappear and reappear again behind Mukura, quickly creates a ball of fire with her hand and blasts it on her back sending her flying and she falls at a distance.

Slowly she transforms back into her demon form ambling towards Gurudza. Standing looking at him she completes her transformation and blows out steam from her nose, the face looking much more menacing and devilish than the last time.

Grab Gurudza by the neck with her left hand, form a fist with the right hand and growl right in his face. Punch him in the face rocketing into the sky and she follows through quickly and screw in the air passing by him and returning with another punch on the chest. Gurudza falls down and to the ground shaking and destroying the cave.

She watches him lie inside the hole he created when he fell down for a while and directs her attention to Mukura who is still waking up from the last attack.

Approaching her slowly Gwanhoya belittles Mukura in her dark voice, "Even after all you went through, you are still weak!"

Gwanhoya holds her by the head, "We could have entered the dawn of a new age together and reigned supreme among the demons!" she pushes her into the ground face first with force and Mukura's face cracks into the ground.

She puts her foot on the back of her head and presses it forcing it into the earth. Mukura still weak struggling to get up out of the ground but her trials are futile.

Gurudza launches a surprise attack from behind her, trying to punch Gwanhoya and the demoness catches him by the face removes her leg from Mukura's head and kicks Gurudza on the rib cage and he screams. Again, throw him away.

She glares at him as he goes, "I am yet to start fighting seriously and the both of you can barely hold your own!"

Mukura laughs looking up with her bloody face, "We have not yet even tried to fight back yet!"

She reaches down for her throat and put her mouth on Mukura's ears, "Even if you did, what do you think you can do?" whispers the question in her ears.

She does not answer her but looks up in the sky and the moon is almost halfway covered by blood.

"Can you see that Gurudza?" she asks him still looking at the moon.

Approaching them, ambling holding his rib he replies, "Yes, I can see it!"

"It just means we still have sometime to turn this around, right?" Mukura gets her upper body up but still on her knees breathing heavily.

"Look who is talking! You are all torn apart, I mean have you seen your face girl?"

"You are not looking so good yourself, Gurudza!"

Gwanhoya looks at them both continuously as they speak to each other and does not interject or cut their conversation.

Gurudza groans in pain, "I cannot believe that we are so close to the end!"

"Me too!" Mukura replies.

Annoyed by their talk she shouts, "Enough!" and kicks Mukura in the face.

Gwanhoya's body heating up and turning red with rage and her eyes emitting fire. The blood has covered the moon halfway now and Gurudza straightens himself. Mukura gets up and wind starts circulating around her arm.

Gurudza's eyes turn white and both Mukura and Gurudza attack simultaneously trapping Gwanhoya in a giant whirl wind and lightning. Gwanhoya tries to escape the whirlwind and lightning strikes her down and the storm is starting to inflict damage on her.

At Alabaster Weald

Genteel stares at the moon with Garamba slowly becoming covered with blood. Catherine wakes up from her long rest and walks up to them.

Looking at Genteel confused she asks, "What is going on? What happened while I was resting?"

Genteel turns to look at her, "A lot has happened and right now, Divine and Gurudza must be fighting Gwanhoya." She tells her the situation.

She is shocked to hear this and she looks and Garamba, "Why is the witch of the dark forest doing here?"

Garamba glares at her and she backs up getting closer to Genteel terrified of her and she steps on a body and looks down only to see Taruziva's body and screams with her hands headed for the mouth. Genteel quickly turns to see what is wrong and to her disappointment sees her friend screaming after seeing a dead body like it is the first time.

"Really, Catherine? Have you never seen a dead body before?"

She looks at Genteel with her hands still on the mouth. Garamba with an evil look laughs malevolently trying to scare her.

In a scary voice Garamba instils more fear in her, "She seems to be terrified of me and who can blame her? It is me after all!"

"You need to stop what you are trying to do, Garamba and focus on the current situation!" Genteel's face and voice sounds seriously annoyed at the moment, "I am concerned for Divine and Gurudza. The moon keeps getting covered in blood!"

Garamba returns her attention to the moon, "I told you that we should have gone with them but no, you were busy talking destiny!"

"And I still stand by what I said and I do think it is high time we start moving to see what is going on there!"

Excited after hearing this Garamba while stretching her neck, "It is about high time we intervened and put an end to the demon's schemes!"

Catherine interjects seemingly confused by what they are saying, "Wait, you two are here while children fight a battle that will determine the fate of the world?" she asks with a face that questions their mental capacity.

Genteel puts her hands on her back and answers, "Yes, you are right!"

"Why the hell would you do that for?" she yells at her.

"It is not my decision and not my destiny but theirs!"

"To hell with destiny!"

Garamba stands by her, "For once, I totally agree with your pet friend here Genteel. We need to stop the demon personally."

Catherine yells, "Who are you calling pet you witch!?"

"You are the pet friend! The one she orders around!" Garamba laughs making fun of Catherine.

"Like what she is doing with you also now?"

"Watch your mouth!"

Strong wind blows coming from Genteel, "Both of you need to stop behaving like children!" her eyes have turned white and her face angry.

Walking in front of both Catherine and Genteel Garamba opens a portal, "Let us go then!"

"Do you even know where we are going?" Genteel asks her standing still on what spot.

"No, I have no idea!" she admits she does not know and closes the portal.

Genteel looks around, "We will need an undetectable mode of transportation that will allow us to get the undetected because I am sure she will sense our presence as soon as we get there!"

Catherine puts her hand on her chin, "Most probably and with how powerful she is! It will be tough to handle her."

"We will figure out everything on the way, right now we need to get to her cave but first some camouflages.

At the Cave

Gwanhoya is still in the whirlwind being struck by lightning hindering her from doing anything to escape. Gurudza and Mukura certain that she is unable to escape rush to try and figure out a way to stop the blood form covering the moon.

Gurudza calls Mukura, "Heyy, Muku!"

Mukura replies searching around, "I am kind of busy!"

"I can see that but I want to ask whose blood it is she is using!"

"Probably yours or mine or both!"

"You do not know either!"

"I do not know either, I am just guessing!"

The whole area begins to heat up rapidly. Mukura tries to cool off the area but fails and the whirlwind explodes dispersing. Gwanhoya appears out of it breathing heavily pissed off by what Mukura and Gurudza pulled on him.

The two horrified hold each other's hands looking at her slowly raising her head and her eyes blazing fire.

Gurudza gets up in front of Mukura forms a fist, "I need you to figure out a way to permanently stop her!"

"What do you think you are doing?"

He looks back at her and smiles, "Going to fight her and distract her while you figure out a way to save your sister from her!"

"Come on, you cannot possibly fight her alone!"

He laughs softly, "I think I can, trust me!" he pets her on the head, "Now go an find a way to save your sister!"

He runs in the direction where Gwanhoya is, jump and land a few meters away from her on one knees and gets up rubbing it due to the pain caused by the landing. They glare at each other with spiteful eyes for a little while.

Gwanhoya commends the boy, "Brave of you to come and face me alone, young prince!"

"Are we going to continue stand here having a stare contest or are we going to fight!"

"Impudent little boy! You will pay for what you did to my beast!"

"Still babbling words out of your mouth!"

She screams in anger and charges at him quickly with a fist ready and Gurudza prepares for her and she swings a punch and he blocks it, smiles and punch her in the stomach with the other hand. Grabs the hand he blocked and swing another punch on the stomach and throws her down.

"Told you before demon that we are yet to fight!" he slowly turns his eyes white slowly approaching Gwanhoya.

Meanwhile, Mukura has not yet begun searching for a way to stop Gwanhoya. Watching as the battle between the two unfolds and shocked by how easily Gurudza blocked and counter attacked Gwanhoya.

"So, he gets to have fun fighting her while I play underground magic decipher!" she sighs loudly and turns to begin the search.

The moon is almost three quarters filled with blood and the Mukura has not made any progress and is beginning and the battle between Gurudza and Gwanhoya is just beginning. Gwanhoya is waking up from the ground with a smile on her face.

"A warrior like your father!" she shouts excited by the development, "But I can see your magic is power but not as effective as your fists!"

They both charge at each other screaming.

Elsewhere, Genteel and Garamba are already on their way to the battlefield and tagging along Catherine. The race against time has began as the moon is set to be covered by blood in a matter of moments.

Gurudza and Gwanhoya's fists clash causing a shockwave creating a huge hole under them and the battle rages on. Exchange of blows between Gwanhoya and Gurudza getting more intense with every moment that passes by. Gurudza holding his own against the demoness.

Mukura searching for a way or a clue to stopping the process is getting nowhere but just running circles around the cave. She enters into the cave to search for the answer and it is dark and she cannot see anything from the entrance.

"Luminous!" and a white little light appears in front of her and she excitedly says, "Word activation, still works!"

The little light moves to where she is looking and does not cover much but helps her navigate into the cave. Wary of her surroundings in case something is waiting for her inside with the walls of the cave shaking and collapsing bit by bit because of the fight between Gurudza and Gwanhoya.

With the thought of the cave collapsing above her, she gulps saliva in terror and continues with caution into the deeper parts of the cave.

She gets to the place at the end of the cave where Gwanhoya holds her meeting with the demon, Surgat who is in the demon realm.

She looks around and notices everything was restored, "She really did put her house in order! I wish I had known about my magical power and then I would not have struggled with chores." she says to herself.

Her mind is flooded with thoughts of Monalisa and her frozen in one spot. A side smile appears on her face lost in the mind. And she does not move at all for a long-time.

Gurudza looks up into the sky as the moon becomes completely covered in blood.

Gwanhoya levitating with her hands spread out, laughing she declares, "This is the end!"

Gurudza looks around and there is no sign of Mukura. Genteel, Garamba and Catherine arrive at the scene and Genteel runs up to Gurudza.

"Where is Mukura?"

Gurudza does not answer and just looks down with the embarrassment and shame of failing.
