The clock on Min-jae's phone changed to 5:47 PM.
Thirteen minutes.
That was all they had left.
Hana stood beside him near the entrance of the old train station, nervously looking around.
Joon-ho had wanted to come with them.
Min-jae had refused.
"If Ji-ah told us to come alone, we have to respect that."
Joon-ho hadn't liked the idea.
"Then at least keep your phone on."
"I will."
"And if anything feels wrong, call me."
Min-jae nodded.
"I promise."
Now, standing beside Hana, he checked his phone again.
5:51 PM.
Hana noticed.
"You're nervous."
"A little."
"A little?"
He looked at her.
"Okay. Very nervous."
Hana smiled.
Despite everything that had happened, she still found a way to make him feel calmer.
"Whatever happens," she said, "we'll face it together."
Min-jae looked at her for a moment.
Then he smiled.
"You always say things like that when I'm scared."
"Because they work."
"They do."
The station was almost empty.
An old clock hung above the entrance, its hands moving slowly.
5:57 PM.
Then Hana heard footsteps.
She turned.
Nobody.
The sound stopped.
"Did you hear that?"
Min-jae nodded.
They waited.
