Lexie's POV
"Stop the car!" Lexie snapped, humiliation and agony tearing through her chest.
"Ma'am?" Axel's voice pitched higher with confusion.
"You heard me!" she screamed. "Stop the damn car!"
"Yes ma'am," Axel replied quietly and brought the vehicle to a halt.
She stepped out, fury clouding her sight.
After taking several steps away, she realized how ridiculous it would be to walk all the way to Vivienne's place. With an annoyed growl, she spun around and marched back to the car.
Thank God Axel hadn't driven off.
"Drive me to Vivienne's," she said harshly, her face burning with shame.
"Yes ma'am," Axel replied gently, watching her through the rearview mirror.
She sank into the seat, letting the hurt course through her bloodstream. Dorian's cologne still hung in the air, making everything worse. She threw her hands up in silent fury, sending the flower bouquet crashing to the floor.
Axel glanced back but remained silent.
"What?" she snapped.
