Chapter 2 - Happy lolly

It took weeks to prepare for Lolly's departure. Since the city was new and unfamiliar, he needed someone to accompany him, and surprisingly, his father volunteered. After tears, prayers, and long farewells, Lolly and his father left early Sunday morning for the train station. Lolly's heart was filled with excitement as he listened to the sounds around him and imagined a new life ahead.

At the station, his father asked him to wait while he went to the restroom. Lolly sat quietly, gripping his walking stick. When someone approached, Lolly recognized a familiar scent—the same perfume his father always wore. Relieved, he reached out and held the man's hand as they boarded the train together.

Hours later, unable to contain his curiosity, Lolly asked softly, "Daddy, aren't we there yet?"

The man froze, then replied in confusion, "Who are you?"

In that moment, Lolly's world shattered. The man was a stranger—someone who happened to wear the same perfume as his father. Lolly realized he had boarded the wrong train and left his father behind at the station. Tears streamed down his face as the train finally arrived at its destination.

Crying helplessly, Lolly stepped down onto the platform. Lost and terrified, he listened carefully until he heard the distant ringing of church bells. Clinging to the sound, he followed it step by step, until he gently walked into a church, hoping to find safety where his journey had gone wrong.

Lolly slowly made his way toward the altar, drawn as if something unseen was calling him. When he reached it, he knelt down and folded his hands. For a few quiet minutes, he prayed with all his heart. Then, in a trembling voice, he began to sing.

"Oh Lord, save the lost blind boy,

Oh Lord, save the lost blind boy.

Will I ever see the light of day?

Will I ever see my people smile?

Ohhh Lord… save the lost blind boy."

His voice echoed softly through the church, pure and aching, filled with pain and hope. The song carried sorrow, but also faith—so strong it seemed to touch every corner of the room. As he continued singing, unaware of anything else around him, a gentle hand reached out from behind and softly touched his shoulder.

Lolly's voice faltered, and he froze.
