"You're glowing," Vanessa said during one of their monthly coffee dates.
They had settled into a quiet corner of their usual café, a place that had become theirs over time—neutral ground where neither of their pasts could intrude too loudly. Vanessa looked different these days. Lighter. Like she had finally stepped out from under something heavy.
"Pregnancy looks good on you."
"I feel good. Tired. But good. Ready for this next chapter." Sienna rested her hand against the curve of her belly. Six months now. There was no hiding it anymore, not that she wanted to. "How's the advocacy work going?"
