Chapter 15 - Princess Esmeralda

The brigade, or best described, the army that had attacked the chapel, used to have many interesting people within it. There were plenty of Heroes, as their armor hinted, and there were people of other ranks too.

They were dead now, regardless of ranks, and even the undead were mostly copies of copies, brought forward to him by the system itself, and yet, within the hundreds of skeletons, the system had picked a few interesting skeletons to raise from the dead.

That one extra skeleton she put together when she wanted to round up Clayton's army to one-hundred, turned out to be a Princess.

Clayton noticed that she was a Princess earlier on, and up until now, he had tried his best to figure out what to do with her. He got an inkling of an idea, a plan that he needed to work on in the near future, but if he was to keep his options open, he needed the undead Princess to 'live', or survive for as long as possible!

He wanted to put the crown on her head into use, he just didn't know how yet.

The system guaranteed that each and every undead slave of his, be it clone or an original, would walk for a full week before they withered away, disintegrated. Clayton felt that this wasn't enough time, as he wasn't even sure if he could get to the city in seven days, and since that possibility was questionable, he wouldn't be able to put the Princess into use either, because even though his plan had plenty of holes in it now, he still knew that the Princess would be the most useful if he could get her to the city, rather than some random village.

"I should use her to put the Fear of God into the King," He plotted, "But then what? The King will lose his nut, and send thousands of men to kill me. I don't see that working out."

Clayton didn't know what to do with her in the long run, which was why he led Rufus to her, and had him work his magic.

Before Rufus got to work, he said, "You know I can't bring her back to life, right? I'm no God, I'm just a Necromancer."

"I know," He nodded, "Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word 'revive' but you know what I mean. I need her to walk around for a few more days. Can you push her past the two week mark?"

"I can, but I'd have to blow all of my Dark Mana reserves on her." Rufus followed along, "Hell, I can make her 'live' for three months, if that's what you want, I just don't think it's productive."

"Push her to three months, then," He said, and got a bit excited as he spoke. "I don't know what I'm going to do with her yet, I figure we can use her to scare the King straight, but maybe there is a better plan out there, one that I haven't found yet? Hmm… can you make her look as human as possible?"

"I suppose," Rufus sighed.

Afterwards, he grabbed the undead Princess' head with both of his hands, looked at the sky, and started chanting. His spells were Latin, and judging from the intensity of every word he spoke, he was giving a great example of why Necromancers were so hated amongst the population. He was talking to a Demon, or perhaps the Devil himself, as those creatures, those entities were as powerful as Gods, and infinitely useful if a Necromancer knew how to talk to them!

Rufus shouted out, "Ramaxata, postulo ut mihi liceat iusiurandum frangere, et vitam imitari semel, Domine. Promitto me te non iterum vexaturum esse de tali re per reliquum annum!"

At this point, this was more of a spoken-word spell, or, direct communication with a Demonic Lord, but Rufus managed to get his point across. He talked to a being that no simple man would dare to talk to, and whatever he did was successful!

The walking corpse began to look human. Up until this point, she walked around with a minimal amount of flesh, joints, and tendons on her body, enough to keep her moving, and enough to keep her Mana Pool intact, and now, she almost looked human!

Rufus regenerated all of her organs, for one thing, so her heart was beating. Blood was pumping down her veins again, the color of her skin returning. She even had a slight blush on her cheeks as she fought the dizziness!

As Rufus' influence reached its end, an orb of black essence surrounded the Princess' head, and then the orb popped like a bubble.

The way it burst was anti-climactic at first, but then they were hit with an extremely delayed shockwave!

Lara covered her ears, as if she had seen him, or another Necromancer work before, but Clayton wasn't as wise. The shock-wave blew up his ear drums, and he was deaf for a solid ten seconds before he regenerated them.

"God damn!" He exclaimed, "A burst eardrum is the worst pain I ever experienced in my life, and I had my head cut off twice today! Good thing I can heal myself."

Rufus turned around, and said, "Oh, right, I should've warned you about the shock-wave."

"You seem fine," He pointed out, "How come?"

"Ramaxata doesn't hurt her Followers, not unless she has to. I'm fit as a fiddle." Clayton followed along, and then he backed away from the Undead Princess, and said, "I hope it was worth it, Clayton. I blew my entire Mana Pool on her, it will take a full week for me to get back to one-hundred percent, and worse yet, I made a pact with Ramaxata too! I can't help your slaves, or any undead man or woman get this close to looking normal, for a while, for the rest of the year, actually. We're getting too close to mimicking life here, and Ramaxata hates it."

"Ramaxata will understand," He smiled, "It's for a cause that may even impress her. One way or the other, we're going to use this fine, reeking lady to torment her father, the King of Ignum."

"Are you even sure she's the King's daughter? I've been to a few Royal Banquets, and I never saw her before." Lara spoke, pointing out what no one else had bothered to ask, "What if she's from another Kingdom? Where will your plan stand then?"

"I am the Princess of Ignum… you disgusting, bald dwarf!" The Princess spoke, "My name is Griselda, daughter of King Nathaniel the Fourth! You don't know me, because I was born out of wedlock, so my father refused to acknowledge me as his daughter for years, up until I came of age. I will not stand idly by and take your disrespect, you bald cunts!"
