Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: At the Funeral

"Aren't you going to see them again?"

The one eyed black skinned Egghead looked at the man beside him with his bright eye. A year ago, this man had secretly contacted him for the first time. After sourcing many materials, he had created two bio androids, one male and one female. As a spymaster, he instantly understood that someone was going to move against the stark family. Thus, he took charge personally, not even telling his closest assistant. He supported him and helped him and his wife find a hidden sanctuary.

At this moment, he was watching the surveillance with this man. In this grand funeral, the man's eyes never left the young man and the little girl at the very front. He could completely see the heartache and reluctance flashing in the man's eyes, but the man remained very calm. Ultimately, he chose to sigh and stopped looking at his children on the monitor.

"No. Children will grow up on their own."

This man was Howard. After faking his Death using the bio androids, he had been hiding in Egghead's secret base. As one of the founders of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, he still had the ability to mobilize Director Nick Fury's help. Even if he didn't manage things much now, his knowledge and abilities could still sway this cold and ruthless agent.

"Alright! That's your own decision. So, who exactly was the guy who attacked you?"

The pleasantries were over. As a battle hardened agent, he was quite concerned about what kind of mastermind could force a major figure with significant influence in the entire United States to choose faking Death to avoid them. He was currently very alert and curious.

"Although he wore a mask, those eyes felt particularly familiar. He looked like Bucky, who was already confirmed dead."

"What? Are you sure you didn't see wrong?"

This news gave Nick a shock. How could someone who had been 'killed in action' for decades suddenly appear? Nick felt like he could smell a massive conspiracy.

"Through the bio android's final recording and comparing it with the facial data in the database, the similarity between the two reached over eighty five percent. Do you think I would lie to you?"

Howard looked at Nick with displeasure. To think he dared to question him; did he really think he had a good temper?

"Oh! No, I just find it a bit hard to accept. How could someone dead for decades suddenly appear and attack you? It seems this must be thoroughly investigated."

A hint of something inexplicable flashed in his single eye. Being black skinned in this somewhat dark place made it impossible to see his expression clearly, but the atmosphere around him felt a bit oppressive.

"Nick, I'm entrusting Angela and Tony to your care. Maria and I cannot show ourselves for the time being."

Howard didn't have the heart to deal with the spymaster. After entrusting his children to Nick, he turned and walked away. Maria still needed his comfort, and there were many things to handle. For now, he would let Obadiah live a few more years to lay a solid foundation for Stark Industries; it wouldn't be too late to deal with him then. Thinking of this, Howard continued to stay hidden with a peaceful mind.

"Angela, if you want to cry, just cry. Your brother will protect you well."

On the other side, Angela, who was staring blankly in front of Howard and Maria's tombstone, suddenly felt a warm hand on her head. Angela snapped out of it and saw Tony's somber face. Although she was a bit unhappy with his hand, seeing the sorrow in his eyes, she let it be. However, she wasn't going to cry. After all, both the old man and her mother were alive, so what was there to cry about? What lay inside were just some piles of dust of unknown origin. Seeing the 'bodies' of the two, she knew that everything she had done hadn't been in vain.

When Obadiah had come over earlier to offer the comfort of an elder, Angela had almost laughed. To avoid showing anything unusual, she could only stare blankly and ignore everyone. Such behavior, in the eyes of others, was simply the little angel being in mourning. Consequently, Tony's heart ached even more, and he came to comfort the little princess.

"I'm not that weak, brother."

While saying this, Angela's heart was practically flipping with 'joy'. The more Angela spoke like this, the more others would think the child was truly strong. Tony didn't say anything further. At twenty one, he was already an adult. He took Angela's hand, preparing to lead her away.

"Do we need to eliminate future troubles?"

"No need. Howard's son and daughter are within controllable range. We need them to generate more profits for us in the future. Hiding ourselves is most appropriate right now."

"Hail Hydra"

"Hail Hydra"

No one knew of the exchange hidden in the corner. After the two phrases, the corner fell into complete silence.
