"Holy! If you're awake, you should tell me you're awake! Scared the hell out of me." Kian complained like a child, placing his hand over his heart.
Xal sent him a death glare and winced as he put the weight on his arm, trying to get up. He acknowledged that at some point he had gotten hurt, which he didn't remember, and that the injury had already been treated professionally. Which he didn't remember either.
He just stared at Kian, not knowing where to start or what to ask.
Should he directly ask about the call, or should he confirm his identity first? What was all that about victims? His head was a mess, not knowing where to begin.
As if Kian felt his dilemma, he sat down and started speaking.
"Uh… first of all, I want to apologize. I was impulsive, and I should not have dragged you into all of this spirit thing, or overwhelmed you by showing the spirit dimension without your consent, and, you know, all of that. So… um… I'm sorry. I really-"
He stopped talking, looking at Xal. The breath he took sounded shaky in his ears. "You- you're listening. That's annoying."
Xal raised his eyebrow in question and said, "You were talking."
Of course I'm listening.The thought went unsaid as much as it surprised him that he was waiting for Kian to finish talking.
Usually, he never bothered.
