Chapter 79 - Slaying a Jōnin Once More

Compared to chūnin, jōnin were vastly stronger.

They immediately began using various clone techniques to probe Yu Ye's strength.

Yet no matter what kind of attack came at him—

Yu Ye answered with a single punch, sweeping everything aside.

One man.

One sword.

One fist.

He suppressed four jōnin at once—

and among them was even an elite jōnin.

In the distance, Asama Sana's puppet had long since collapsed onto the ground, parts scattered everywhere.

Yamanaka Hai, meanwhile, was soaked by the rain until he looked like a drowned rat—yet he didn't even notice.

Yu Ye…

was fighting jōnin.

No—

he was fighting four jōnin alone and overwhelming them.

As ANBU operatives, they had experienced countless battles and witnessed countless shocking scenes.

But even if they added up all the shock of their entire lives, it would not compare to what they were seeing now.

It was simply impossible to imagine someone being this strong.

"Earth Release: Rock Mountain Technique!"

RUMBLE—!!!

An Iwagakure jōnin unleashed an A-rank Earth Release ninjutsu.

The ground split violently, and two massive semicircular rock formations rose up from Yu Ye's left and right, aiming to crush him into paste.

Facing this, Yu Ye's expression did not change.

He drove his sword into the ground, crossed his arms in front of his chest—

then slammed both fists outward at the same time.

CRACK—!!!

The deafening roar was like rolling heavenly thunder, making ears ring violently.

Amid the震撼, the two enormous rock mountains shattered completely under Yu Ye's double punch.

Yu Ye then yanked his sword free and charged straight toward one of the jōnin.

That jōnin did not hesitate—he retreated immediately.

After witnessing Yu Ye's power, he naturally would not dare to confront him head-on.

"Vibration Release: Sky Shatter!"

Yu Ye pursued relentlessly, eyes icy.

Gripping the sword with both hands, he swept it out—

A mass of vibration force was flung forward, crashing straight down toward the jōnin.

"Not good!"

"Earth Release: Ultra Hardening Technique!"

The jōnin's hands blurred as he completed hand seals in an instant.

A thick, armor-like layer seemed to coat his entire body.

BOOM—!!

The vibration force detonated, smashing him straight into the ground.

A deep crater appeared instantly, and from its center, cracks spread outward like a spiderweb, shattering the earth inch by inch.

Seeing this, the other jōnin rushed forward to provide support—

But Yu Ye had already flickered forward, arriving at the edge of the crater.

At that moment, a figure burst out from within, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Damn it! Your power is nothing special—

you can't kill me!"

The Ultra Hardening Technique on his body was visibly cracked, but he had only coughed up blood.

"Is that so?"

Yu Ye spoke his first words since the battle began.

And with them—

His sword came down.

"Hmph!"

The injured jōnin grew savage, bloodlust flashing in his eyes.

"Earth Release: Petrification!"

CRACK—CRACK—!!

Brownish stone surged over his body.

In a chorus of strange grinding sounds, he transformed into a stone humanoid.

With Petrification stacked on top of Ultra Hardening, his confidence surged.

He reached straight toward Yu Ye's blade.

On Yu Ye's sword, a white halo of vibration light had been glowing—

But when he saw this, a trace of mockery flashed through his eyes.

You really dare to tank it head-on?

HUM—

In the next instant, the white glow on Yu Ye's blade vanished completely.

In its place appeared something formless and colorless—

an eerie force that subtly warped the air itself, radiating terrifying pressure.

Shockwave Slash!

"Not good—DODGE!!"

The elite jōnin, rushing in with the other two, felt his scalp go numb with terror the moment he saw this.

But it was already too late for that jōnin.

And deep down, he still believed—

Even if Yu Ye could break his defense, he wouldn't be killed outright.

If he could just grab Yu Ye, his teammates could reverse the situation and kill him!

So he committed fully, lunging toward the blade without hesitation.

SHHHK—

There was no blinding light.

No earth-shattering explosion.

This strike was completely different from Yu Ye's previous attacks—

silent, restrained, almost plain.

And yet—

This single slash seemed to eclipse all light, becoming the only thing that existed between heaven and earth.

Every gaze locked onto it, filled with shock.

Silently—

Yu Ye landed on the ground.

His blade met no resistance at all, slicing cleanly from the jōnin's petrified arm, through his head, and down his torso.

Like cutting rotten wood.

The jōnin's body froze in midair, eyes still filled with disbelief and horror.

He struggled to lower his head, wanting—desperately—to see the face beneath Yu Ye's mask.

But he never got the chance.

SPLASH—!!

His body split cleanly in two, blood raining down.

Yu Ye casually punched upward, vibration force rippling gently and dispersing the blood rain—

Not a single drop touched him.

The first jōnin—dead.

Yu Ye's gaze remained calm, devoid of emotion, as he turned to the remaining three jōnin.

"Damn it!!"

The elite jōnin at the front gritted his teeth, bloodshot eyes blazing.

The chūnin losses had been bad enough—

But losing a jōnin?

That loss was already unbearable.

They had come out to ambush Konoha forces, yet after encountering a single ANBU member, they had lost one jōnin and over a dozen chūnin.

This failure was something he could not afford.

"I refuse to believe your chakra is limitless!"

The elite jōnin stared at Yu Ye.

With the mask and cloak concealing everything, he couldn't judge Yu Ye's age.

In the shinobi world, you couldn't determine age by body type alone.

In his mind, Yu Ye was likely an ANBU squad leader—perhaps even a captain.

But those massive, devastating attacks Yu Ye kept using had to consume enormous amounts of chakra.

If that was the case—

As long as they stalled him, there was still a chance to kill him!

And if Yu Ye died here, it would more than make up for their losses.

Resolute, the elite jōnin began forming hand seals and barked orders to the other two:

"He must have used up a lot of chakra!

Hold him here—don't let him escape!"

"Got it!"

The remaining two jōnin shared the same thought.

Their killing intent surged as they locked onto Yu Ye.

What they didn't know—

Was that Yu Ye had never once thought about escaping.

From beginning to end, he had only one intention:

To wipe out every enemy standing before him.
