Chapter 9 - Well, Seems That I Really Need A Job...

Dusting his hands, Knoxis turned his attention back to the stupefied young man, whose gaze was still in lala-land. He stood there silently, contemplating for a long 5 minutes, before pocketing the coin back into Natsuki's pocket and hoisting his petrified body onto his shoulders. "Hey Icks, stop scamming young'uns, and try to live an honest life..."

Shrugging his shoulders, the Grecian flipped his curly hair. "Well, I'll try. Anyways, about the coin, can I have it–"

"Forget what you saw. If I hear anything, or if anything happens to the boy, I'll come and rip out that filthy mouth of yours..."

For the first time in a long time, Icks felt his body go cold, his hair standing straighter than a Chinese soldier with a needle stuck in his collar. Sweat began pouring down his brow as he finally realised that the old.man was serious.

He was gonna kill him if news of what he saw leaked out

"Alright, alright, alright, old man Knoxis. I saw nothing, and if they do ask me, I'll keep my mouth shut. See, just like this..."

His fingers slid across his lips, just as if he were closing a zipper. "Nothing happened here, nothing's gonna get leaked..."

"Damn, your mouth looks too loose. Seems to me that I can't trust what you say anymore..."

Realising that the situation had gone beyond what he intended, Icarus quickly bolted into his 'rickety' van, turning on the ignition to his Protionic blasters, before escaping the shootout out of there. Knoxis gazed at the sky for a good few minutes, before turning his eyes back to Natsuki, who was still in Lala-land. Though his eyes were hidden in the shadows of his brow, you could still see the hints of struggles that escaped from Knoxis. For what reason, only he and God knew...

Shaking his head, Knoxis carried the catatonic Natsuki back into his truck, a beat-up junk of a mini-truck, paint so old that not even the DMV could find out which company made it. The only traces of it seemed to be an ancient symbol, one that constantly glimmered in and out of existence...

One that would shake the multiverse if revealed

With a loud boom, the truck sped into the distance, going back to his home:

Throway Transportation

Oww...

Rubbing his head, Natsuki felt his body jumping up and down, his spine aching badly. Looking up, he was met with what appeared to be Bigfoot, although looking much more snazzy–

"Don't you dare compare me to those furballs. They've caused more damage to the multiverse than needed. Every single creature in existence wants to get rid of them, but to this day, they still have managed to elude their pursuers. Only one organisation is still committed to it, the rest have given up..."

It was only then that Natsuki realised that it was an old man, a very hairy one at that. Swiping his forehead in relief, it was only then that Natsuki realised that he was still stuck in danger. "Wait, you're not gonna sell me for my organs, right!? Shit, HELP ME, HELP ME! SOMEONE'S KIDNAPPING ME TO MAKE ME THEIR SEX SLAVE–"

"Oh grow up. I just saved you from being scammed by Icks. The least you could do is say thanks to me and keep your trap shut. Anyways, since your arrival here was a mistake committed by our company, it seems only fair that we find a way out for you and keep you homeless."

"Where are we going anyway...?"

Confused, Natsuki queried with is eyes. "Umm, where did you say you worked again?"

"Throway Transportations..."

Inside the van, Icks finally remembered where he had read about the coin. Going deep into his ship, Icks entered a room that was locked with multiple stasis fields and magical wards. Deactivating them with immense efforts, he entered the forbidden room.

Inside lay a small gallery, where artifacts and books of all kinds lay locked, secured behind 99 different security systems. Going past through every one of them, Icks laid his hands upon a very ancient shelf, where on it lay a small, yet archaic, collection of books. Fingers skimming through, he finally landed on one that had nothing on it:

No pictures, no titles, no markings...

Except for a large logo, a circle with a fist inside, with small orbs orbiting inside its clutched hand

Opening it with trepidation, he quickly skimmed into one of its many ancient pages, searching, searching, searching, until he found what he wanted to confirm. His eyes went wide as he confirmed what he only speculated before, something that should no longer exist...

It is said that long ago, when the multiverse was first forged, ten metals were used as the foundation, fused together to create the semblance of life and order in the empty black canvas...
