The Mountain's moves were grand and sweeping.
Each swing of his somewhat dull but incredibly heavy greatsword was accompanied by a piercing whistle, and if you were close enough, you could even smell the blood on it.
Clang!
Their swords clashed, and the immense force transferred through the longsword to Jon's arm, making both his forearms tingle.
This was after The Mountain had already expended most of his stamina, so Jon chose to continue dodging and wearing him down.
Although the soldiers on both sides occasionally gasped, no one dared to shout loudly. Jon's soldiers and nobles watched him dodge and weave, afraid of distracting him, while The Mountain disliked noise, and any extra sound would only worsen his headache due to the injury to his eye.
Because their side had a clear numerical advantage in troops, clearing the battlefield was also very quick.
When the distant soldiers and tribal warriors learned that their commander was currently in a decisive battle with the enemy commander, they rushed over.
"Can our Lord defeat that giant?"
"Nonsense, our Lord is the only one in a hundred years to climb Hidden Fire Peak!"
Despite not knowing the situation on the front lines, the tribal warriors and soldiers had great confidence in Jon.
Thud!
The Mountain's greatsword missed again, smashing heavily into the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
Jon took the opportunity to kick a rock at The Mountain's head, hitting him on the forehead.
"Is that all you've got? Then I think I can contact the Dornish and sell you off right now." Jon said with a provocative tone, wanting to further enrage him.
To be honest, The Mountain's moves were indeed excellent in terms of power; his body size and physical strength greatly enhanced his personal martial arts.
Other than that, there was little to commend, which left Jon a bit disappointed. After becoming a Sword Saint, it would likely be difficult to find an opponent in Westeros.
However, this world has magic, real magic, so he still needed to be careful.
"The Mountain is running out of stamina," Martin suddenly said excitedly from the side.
"Even if he had full stamina, he wouldn't be a match for our Lord." Old Yorek's confidence in Jon was restored, even to a higher degree.
Old Yorek could tell that although Jon had been dodging and parrying, it wasn't a defense; rather, it seemed more like a test.
Although they were somewhat far apart, Old Yorek's eyesight was excellent, and he could see that Jon was constantly saying something to The Mountain.
Speaking during a high-intensity duel greatly affects one's breath. In other words, Jon speaking during the duel was 'displaying his margin for error'; he hadn't been giving his all from the start.
After hearing Old Yorek's explanation, Sora gradually relaxed as well.
"Jon isn't trying to recruit this guy, is he? A big brute like that can be very formidable on the battlefield." Harken looked at The Mountain with shining eyes.
Ever since leaving the Mountains of the Moon, he had realized what 'there's always someone better' meant; his own strength and martial arts were decent enough outside, but only just.
He admitted he was no match for either Jon or The Mountain, but Harken's words stirred something in Martin's heart.
The Mountain had killed so many commoners and also killed Ser Raymon; if Jon really spared The Mountain's life, then he would never have a chance for revenge.
But The Mountain wasn't defeated by him, so he had no right to dispose of him. Thinking of this, Martin couldn't help but feel frustrated.
"Ah—"
Suddenly, a scream pulled everyone back from their thoughts.
Jon had actually severed The Mountain's sword-wielding arm with a single strike.
The Mountain wailed loudly, clutching his arm, which was thicker than some people's thighs and gushing blood.
The blood spraying from his severed arm splattered onto his face, making The Mountain look even more terrifying.
For a swordsman, this was essentially crippling. As for the Westeros soldiers behind him, they fell into despair.
The Mountain was defeated, and they could only become captives, to be dealt with as others saw fit.
The Mountain knelt before Jon, crying out, "I surrender, please, save me!" The Mountain said, trying to stop the bleeding by pinching his wrist.
The soldiers behind Jon, however, felt invigorated. Their commander had decisively secured victory, meaning no more deaths, and they wouldn't have to fight to the death.
At the same time, the soldiers' gazes towards Jon grew even more fervent, mixed with clear awe.
Jon walked directly past The Mountain and stood behind him, addressing the Westeros soldiers: "Lay down your weapons, remove your armor, and surrender on the spot!"
Seeing their commander begging for mercy from the enemy, the soldiers threw down their weapons one after another.
With a clatter, a group of Northern soldiers stepped forward to confiscate their weapons.
Immediately after, a second group of soldiers moved to strip them of their armor. With this armor, Jon could assemble a heavy armored legion capable of dominating the battlefield.
"Victory?"
Everyone else who witnessed the scene was a bit dazed, but after realizing what had happened, they burst into joyful laughter.
Especially the tribal warriors, who started twisting their bodies on the spot as if to perform a dance.
Sora looked at Jon, her admiration growing even stronger. In her heart, Jon had now become an invincible, even omnipotent, being.
But suddenly, an unexpected change occurred!
The Mountain, who had been kneeling and begging for mercy, suddenly erupted and lunged at Jon.
"Jon!"
"My Lord!"
"My Lord, be careful!"
Instantly, the faces of the nobles turned pale.
The soldiers who were stripping armor also stopped what they were doing; everyone seemed frozen.
At this moment, Jon had his back to The Mountain, completely exposed.
Even if The Mountain had no weapon in his hand at this point, with his massive body and astonishing strength, Jon would surely be in grave danger.
Just as everyone was scrambling to rescue Jon, The Mountain's body stiffened. A bloody sword blade pierced through his throat and emerged from the back of his neck.
'Gods Perspective, do you think I'm joking with you?'
Jon turned back, coldly looking at The Mountain's single eye, which was filled with disbelief.
He truly couldn't understand why Jon, who had seemed utterly relaxed and even negligent enough to turn his back on him, could still, in an instant, precisely put him to death.
The Mountain couldn't figure it out, and he no longer had the time or strength to think.
His life flashed before his eyes.
What he saw, however, were faces filled with terror, and lives that he had taken.
As his single eye gradually lost its vitality, Jon pushed his corpse away with effort. "What? Do you think a mere cripple could harm me?"
Seeing that Jon was not only unharmed but had also killed The Mountain, everyone still felt a lingering fear.
That last move, no one could have dodged it! Let alone counter-kill like Jon did.
As for the surrendered soldiers, they couldn't even muster the slightest thought of resistance. This was actually a performance specially designed by Jon.
If The Mountain hadn't attacked him, he would have been imprisoned and eventually sold to the Martell family in Sunspear.
If he did attack him, it would further demonstrate his martial prowess to others.
Now, it seemed the effect was significant; not only did the Northern soldiers revere him as a god, but even the newly surrendered soldiers couldn't conceive of any resistance.
