Chapter 5 - This Better Be Good

⸢ HEROINE CREATION SYSTEM ⸥

⸢ Profile: Lancet Leogardt ⸥

⸢ Class: Architect (Dull)⸥

⸢ Rank: 1★ Bronze ⸥

⸢ Level: 1/50 ⸥

⸢ Grace: 10/10 ⸥

⸢ Weapon: — ⸥

⸢ Power: Omnipotent Character Manipulation ⸥

⸢ Skills: Heroine Creation ⸥

⸢ Currencies ⸥

⸢ CP (Creativity Points): 2500 ⸥

⸢ AP (Archetype Keys): 0 ⸥

⸢ Reliquary Charges: 0 ⸥

⸢ Continuity Risk: 0% ⸥

⸢ Rosters ⸥

⸢ Created Heroines: 0 ⸥

⸢ Archived Heroines: 0 ⸥

⸢ Modules : Creation | Summons | Stats | Relics | Archive | World Weave | Quest Log ⸥

Lancet stared at the screen, shocked by the wall of terms he couldn't even begin to understand.

His Class was only Dull Ranked so it made sense that his Grace was only 10 and his rank was a 1 Star Bronze.

But how could he be all of that and have a Power tagged Omnipotent?

'This better be good.'

With hopeful anticipation, he tapped Heroine Creation—his only Skill—and a new interface blinked open.

⸢ Heroine Creation Console ⸥

⸢ Balances → CP: 2500 | AP: 0 ⸥

⸢ With your Heroine Creation Skill, you can create any heroine with sets of powers, skills, traits and motives to help you along your journey ⸥

Lancet's eyes widened. 'So this is really legit? I mean… I thought it might be it but no actual way. I can create characters?!'

⸢ Heroine Creation costs Creativity Points (CP). The more powerful the heroine, the more expensive it will be to create ⸥

⸢ Each created heroine must have a narrative role in the world of Awakener Supreme ⸥

⸢ The backstory of created heroine can not affect the overall lore and background of the story, only the future ⸥

Lancet narrowed his eyes, his interest completely swallowed by the screen. 'These must be the rules.'

⸢ Created heroines can not be duplicates of already existing characters ⸥

He frowned. 'I don't think that would be an issue.'

⸢ Archetype Keys are used to unlock power sets. You can not give a created heroine a Class unless it has been unlocked by an Archetype Key for that Class ⸥

'Huh?' His brows raised. 'Well how then can I get them?'

⸢ Archetype Keys are earned by leveling up your existing heroines. The higher their growth, the rarer the key rewarded. Bronze, Silver or Gold Keys will be required depending on the power tier of the Archetype created ⸥

His heart sank. 'But I have no existing heroines!' he almost yelled.

Right now, this entire thing was starting to look like a damn scam. Freaking gachas! Just can't escape them.

⸢Move on to Heroine Creation interface?⸥

He sighed. 'Might as well just check it out.' He mentally selected yes.

The system responded with the next interface.

⸢ Name ⸥

⸢ Appearance ⸥

⸢ Personality ⸥

⸢ Role Assignment ⸥

⸢ Heroine | Villainess | Noble | Civilian | NPC ⸥

Lancet was surprised at the NPC option. But it did seem like something that could weirdly come in handy one day.

⸢ Backstory ⸥

⸢ Family | Birthplace | Event | Motive ⸥

⸢ Archetype Keys: Archetype Keys allocate Class and Skills to your created heroine ⸥

'Yeah, you said that already.'

⸢ Keys: 0 ⸥

⸢ Minor Details ⸥

⸢ Create Heroine ⸥

He guessed he could just start now, at least to lay out the basics of his first heroine.

He selected the ⸢ Create Heroine ⸥ module. The screen expanded, filling his vision with a blank canvas and a sidebar of expensive options.

⸢ Heroine Creation ⸥

⸢ Current Balance: 2,500 CP ⸥

⸢ Cost Analysis: ⸥

* ⸢ Silver Rank Heroine: 500 - 800 CP ⸥

* ⸢ Gold Rank Heroine: 1,000 - 1,500 CP ⸥

* ⸢ Platinum Rank Heroine: 2,000+ CP ⸥

Lancet pouted thoughtfully. 'So I can afford two decent Gold heroines, or go all-in on one Platinum. Starting off with two summons seems like it will be a lot of work to manage. But I'd also like my first summon to be extremely powerful…'

After reading lots of manhwa and light novels, he knew that having an overpowered summon at the very start was a game changer.

So, he selected the Platinum Rank. Almost instantly, a pop up notification appeared on the screen.

⸢ Special Feature! ⸥

⸢ Narrative Coupon! ⸥

⸢ CP Cost increases with your created Heroine's power. But you can cut the cost by giving the character a strong background story; narrative depth, logical motivation, and perfect lore attunement ⸥

⸢ If your Heroine's story impressed the System, CP cost will be subsidized. ⸥

Lancet became wide eyed. He was right all along! This whole thing was because of what he said!

The system was testing him, wanting him to prove that he could truly create better Heroines. Heroines with more depth, more personality, unique motivations and desires.

Since creating powerful Heroines cost more CP, if making them better characters cut the cost, then it was the key.

The key to having overpowered summons.

But what was the Lore Attunement part?

'Oh.' He remembered that the heroines he creates have to be part of the story's lore somehow.

So Lore Attunement had to mean how seamlessly he could weave a created Heroine into the established lore of Awakener Supreme.

There was good and bad news with this rule.

The good news was no one else knew the lore of Awakener Supreme more than him. Lancet knew everything. Every detail.

If knowledge was the requirement, he far exceeded it.

The bad news was that he didn't quite yet understand the mechanics behind it.

If these Heroines were his summons, it meant they would either reside in a Summon Space or they were binded to him.

But both scenarios meant different things considering the importance of lore attunement.

The first possibility: they were binded to him.

If that was the case, then they weren't abstractions or constructs. He would create Awakeners like him; people living in the modern world. They would have families. Histories. Maybe even friends.

But they will be bound to fight for him.

The second: If they were in his Summon Space, then proper lore attunement meant they were figures from the past; Awakeners who became fallen heroes, ancient champions, dead legends or just any dead person if he pleased.

He was the one who would decide their story anyway.

But by crafting their backstories to align with the world's history, he wouldn't just be inventing characters.

He would be resurrecting them.

The system would bend reality itself, rewriting collective memory, convincing the world that these people had always existed, that their names had always been spoken, their deeds always recorded.

Either way, the conclusion was unavoidable.

Lancet held the power to write lives directly into the fabric of this world.

Only now did the name of his power truly begin to make sense.

Omnipotent Character Manipulation.
