The moment Grey exited the mansion, he stopped short.
Three bodyguards stood waiting for him just outside. They were tall and broad, their posture rigid and alert.
Each of them wore black suits, crisp and formal, with dark glasses covering their eyes. They looked as though they had been standing there for some time, as if they had been waiting specifically for him.
Grey stared at them, stunned, shock rendering him momentarily speechless.
Were these Alpha Norman's guards?
No. That couldn't be right. He had never seen them with Alpha Norman before. He tried to recall every memory he had of Norman's presence, every time guards had accompanied him, but none of them matched these men.
Before Grey could gather his thoughts, one of the bodyguards stepped forward slightly.
"This way, Alpha Grey," the man said, gesturing toward a black car parked a few steps away.
