Initially, when Danzō proposed to Hiruzen Sarutobi to transfer Naraku to Root, Hiruzen Sarutobi firmly suppressed the matter.
I even thought that after so many years as Hokage, he handled things fairly and could keep Danzō in check.
But it was all for naught.
Danzō secretly worked behind his back without restraint.
And when he failed, Hiruzen Sarutobi eagerly cleaned up his mess.
Ultimately, he didn't care about fairness at all.
His opposition to Danzō's radicalism wasn't for the grand reasons he claimed.
It was simply because he didn't want any internal disturbances in Konoha.
For this, he could oppose Danzō, and he could also clean up after Danzō's failures.
If Danzō could truly eliminate the Uchiha silently and without any consequences, his attitude would probably not have been like this.
Instead, he would have allowed Danzō to act freely.
Essentially, he and Danzō were both suspicious and wary of the Uchiha.

Post #1 (OP): Naraku's journey back to Konoha from Amegakure was truly agonizing.
It wasn't just injuries, blood loss, and exhaustion, pushing himself to rush; it was also mental torment.
Even under such circumstances, he would gently treat Kana, rescue her from Kusagakure, and finally even actively engage in battle to buy Kana a chance to escape.
In that cage specially designed for him, he actually hadn't completely given up on Konoha.
That is why he asked them who they were T-T

Earlier, when Danzō and Hiruzen Sarutobi argued, Danzō brought up the idea of removing Sakumo from his position.
My personal judgment is that his attack on Sakumo Hatake had been planned for a long time.
This time, it just happened to align with his scheme to harm the Uchiha.
The Old Thief is truly cunning.
This move not only allowed him to use Amegakure to eliminate the most talented member of the Uchiha...
But also incidentally caused the White Fang to act recklessly out of concern.
He made mistakes amidst the chaos, damaging his prestige, reducing his chances of becoming Hokage, and eliminating a competitor.
And if Sakumo couldn't become Hokage, it would be even more convenient for Danzō to target the Uchiha in the future.
If Naraku hadn't survived, Danzō would probably have profited immensely.

He opened his eyes and looked at the white ceiling, then out the window.
Danzō Shimura was even more insane and intense than in the original world.
He lurked in the darkness like a beast, and would probably bare his fangs again soon.
It was late at night, and the moonlight poured down like a waterfall.
Naraku, in a daze, felt as if he had returned to the day Kakashi first saved him.
It was also a silent moonlit night like this.
