Chapter 14 - Unconscious

Michael was talking big like that but right now he still had a problem to solve. For now you could say he knew how to not sink in the water but swimming forward he didn't know.

Leo stood on the shore seeing Michael just opening his mouth to yell and not doing anything else so he decided to find a little stimulation for him.

Looking around, he discovered there were quite a few small rocks here. The edges were also pretty sharp, hitting the head with one could really kill someone. Rock quality like this was very suitable for 'helping' his dear comrade.

Without a word of warning, he grabbed a rock and swung his arm. A swing that tore through the air sent the rock flying in a dead straight line. This movement and force, if placed in modern society, would make him a potential recruit.

Michael was thinking of a way to swim forward when suddenly he felt something brush past his head.

This feeling just arrived when immediately the water next to his head was struck hard by a rock, water splashing everywhere.

He froze, not understanding what was happening, right after that his face turned pale. Just a little off and that big, hard thing would have smacked right into his head.

"You damn brat! This time don't even think of denying it. Clearly you meant to kill me."

Michael bared his teeth and glared, furious at Leo's unwarned behavior. And even if warned he absolutely would not agree to this crazy thing. He didn't believe Leo could completely control it so that every throw would just barely miss his head.

"Ha ha, I'm not sure next time will be so lucky. If you want to live then get up here quickly!"

As soon as he finished another rock flew, this time not a reminder anymore but aimed right at Michael's head.

Leo knew if he kept intentionally missing then Michael wouldn't have the motivation to try. So he chose to throw for real. He believed he wasn't so good at throwing rocks that he'd kill a god.

If Michael knew Leo's current thought he'd definitely want to kill him. It's true he wouldn't really die but being trapped in that place for a thousand years just thinking about it felt extremely terrifying.

Michael's eyes went wide, immediately tilting his head to one side to dodge. He originally thought Leo was just bluffing, didn't think he'd actually do it.

"You bastard! You wait there for me."

Clearly didn't know how to swim but right now he could unconsciously move forward. You could say this training method was extremely effective... on the condition that you survived until the end of the training.

"Ha ha, don't just talk. Use action to prove it."

Leo laughed heartily, immediately raising the difficulty. He swung a big handful of rocks into the air, both hands continuously swinging hard looking quite similar to a spiking motion. The rocks' speed and accuracy dropped sharply but the attack range shot up.

Michael's eyes went wide watching the rain of rocks heading his way. Though the damage was less than before, getting hit could still knock him out. And getting knocked out in deep water was no different from death.

His head shook left and right, fast to the point he almost saw afterimages. His limbs also took turns moving to dodge because there were also rocks flying towards his body.

Had to admit he really learned fast, his movements in the water now were very flexible. A little more time and he might be like a 'fishman' too.

Leo's movements didn't slow down but got faster and faster. To him Michael was a genius. If you're a genius you gotta suffer more than regular people so you don't waste your talent.

Suddenly a rock grazed his face making Michael bleed. He'd never fought before, suddenly getting injured made his body immediately stall. At the same time many rocks flew over, among them one flew straight into his forehead.

Fresh blood seeped from his forehead. Michael felt dizzy and vision blurry, his limb movements getting more and more chaotic.

"Dammit! Weren't you very flexible? Why'd you suddenly freeze?"

Leo cursed then immediately jumped into the water to grab Michael. Anyway the lake water was very deep, if he fell in he really didn't know how to fish him out.

Leo's swimming skills were also very good, didn't take much time to pull Michael ashore.

Staring at Michael, he frowned thinking about what exactly happened. Remembering right at that moment Michael had taken a light hit, he immediately understood.

"So it's because he has no experience so he didn't know what to do when injured." He muttered, while thinking about how to train Michael next.

Normal people getting injured would of course pay attention to how to give first aid as fast as possible. If it's a small scratch then it's fine but a tearing wound with blood flowing out big like just now had to be dealt with.

But the situation on the battlefield isn't like that. If you lose focus just because the enemy gave you a light injury then you'll definitely die.

About this Leo could sympathize with Michael because after all he was just a guy who didn't understand anything about fighting and had never been in a battle.

Raphael from start to now stood in a distant place silently observing. Normally he also wasn't diligent about paying attention to these things but these two kids really knew how to find ways to die so he couldn't not pay attention.

Sure enough as he predicted, his 'good' son didn't scare Michael at all but he did it for real. With his eyesight it wasn't hard to see that Michael almost got played to death by Leo twice.

If it wasn't that Leo had enough ability and Michael had enough talent then maybe Michael really would have drowned already.

"Just which family's three-year-old child trains like this? The year I was three I was clearly learning words and knowledge related to contractors."

Raphael shook his head and sighed full of weariness. Good thing Leo was still young because if he had already become a contractor then who knows how much trouble he'd cause.

Right now he was injured, hard to use much strength. But a few years later then it's fine, that flame gets weakened by him a little every day.
