Chapter 2 - As if things couldn't get any worse

"Thank goodness that menace is gone,"

Myles couldn't have been happier. Aiden was to be a day-schooler for a couple of days, which meant a few hours of peace for Myles. He really had to adjust his 'secret stash' time, i.e, when he read his danmeis.

Monday morning, at the parade.

"... idumu jumuia yetu," as the parade ground was filled with hoarse voices of young adolescent teens as they sang the East African Anthem.

This was Myles' cue to give his weekly speech. Although he was yet to be the school president, since it was mid second term, Josee, the current school president was slowly retiring since KCSE was close.

"... and those allocated duties in the labs, Mr Amolo wants to see you after this. Otherwise, have a studious and hardworking week." said Myles as the other students applaud after his speech.

The parade was adjourned after the principals speech and everyone went to their classes for the first lesson.

"Who'd have thought our short princess was a queen instead?" said Aiden

"Quit calling me that and keep quiet. The teacher's coming."

"You really are a bookworm. Ease up sometimes, you're already first place, pwincess."

"For the last time, it's Myles. M,Y,L,E,S. Got it? Why I'm I even bothering? Argue with idiots and you'll be one."

"Did you just call me an..."

"Good morning class, Myles and your seatmate can you remind the class what we studied in the previous aviation class?" asked the teacher as everyone else turned to look at this once in a life time occurrence of Myles being in the wrong.

~~~
"What! Aiden! Huyu Aiden mmoja mwenye alikuja tu juzi? Si he's a day schooler ama? Why does it have to be him? Si aendelee kukaa tu home?!" exclaimed Myles, as more bad news hit him.
(Huyu Aiden mmoja mwenye alikuja tu juzi - The one and only Aiden that came just the other day.
ama - or
Si aendelee kukaa tu home - can't he just continue staying home? )
Of all the things, it just so happened to be that, since the form fours were moving to closer dorms, Josee, the current school president had to move too. Guess who was to fill Josee's space, Aiden.
The dormitories were structured in a way that one dorm had small individual cubic rooms, often called cubes. Each cube had two bunk beds, thus could accommodate four students. But there was one special dorm that has a special cube, that accommodated only two students, which was reserved for the president and his deputy. Since Josee had to move, it meant Aiden was then his new roommate.
Fuck, money really can talk! Shit, as if the day couldn't get any worse!
"Hi there princess, guess it's you and me for two years, huh?" Aiden
"Why would his excellency bestow this meager peasants quarters his richly presence while his king sized bed awaits him at home?" M
"Oh princess, it's not by my wishes but my dad is really stuck on teaching me a lesson this time round. He's so fucking serious, but well, so long as at the end if it all i'm getting that car then i don't care what he says." A
"But I care, you could have slept anywhere else, no?" M
"My dad had a way of convincing the principal to let me be in this room since one, he(my dad) used to sleep here too back in the days and two, if I stayed with a hardworking and disciplined student like you then I'd change my bad ways." A
'When will i get time to finish reading MDZS. I was just getting to the extras. Just hope he's a heavy sleeper.' Myles internal monologue.
