Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Is This… Water Release?

A stream of liquid shrouded in white mist surged forward.

The white mist was nitrogen—liquid nitrogen rapidly vaporizing after being exposed to atmospheric pressure.

The "water" itself was liquid nitrogen at –196°C!

A mass of liquid nitrogen the size of two adults was splashed toward the Hyuga kids!

Frost instantly spread across the ground.

In the middle of summer, that near–absolute-zero liquid nitrogen created a patch of winter.

The Hyuga boys who were charging at Jingyan managed to cover their heads and faces at the last moment—but the biting cold that followed made them scream in agony.

On the other side of the "battlefield," Obito was still frozen in a chasing pose, mouth wide open in shock.

"Th-This… what is going on?!"

He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

How did his gentle desk mate suddenly become this strong?

That thing… was that Water Release?

But why did it feel so cold?!

He knew these Hyuga guys—they fought often.

But the key point was: they were all third-years or above!

The one crying the loudest was even a fourth-year!

So how did this even—

"Obito! What are you standing there for?! While they're sick, finish them off!"

Jingyan's voice rang out.

Obito snapped back to his senses and saw that his usually calm desk mate was already riding on top of one Hyuga kid, beating him down!

"O-Oh! I'm coming!"

Still dazed, Obito gritted his teeth.

A strange feeling rose in his heart…

So this is what it feels like to have someone at your back.

He clenched his small fists again, rushed forward, and aimed at another Hyuga boy.

While punching, he muttered angrily:

"We agreed on a one-on-one! I'll teach you to call for backup!"

"Do you think your Grandpa Obito has no companions?!"

"Do you even know your opponent's surname is Uchiha?!"

Obito vented all his anger and the humiliation of being ganged up on.

Jingyan, meanwhile, was completely absorbed in the noble act of… educating naughty kids.

This whole process lasted about two minutes.

It was Jingyan's first real fight using ninjutsu. His chakra control wasn't very skilled yet, and his chakra amount was limited. Even with the Ninjutsu Master aura, he only caused light frostbite to the Hyuga kids.

Honestly, their fists did more damage than his ninjutsu.

But as they fought, system notifications rang in Jingyan's mind.

...

Finally, the two stopped.

The Hyuga kids no longer even had the strength to cry.

Jingyan panted heavily and looked at the oldest Hyuga boy.

Because of his age and training, he still had some consciousness despite being badly beaten.

The hatred in his eyes proved it.

Jingyan frowned.

He walked over, raised his foot as the Hyuga boy's hateful gaze slowly turned to fear—

"Crack!"

A heavy stomp landed, and the Hyuga boy's left shoulder bone shattered.

"AAAAHHHHH!!!"

The scream echoed like a slaughtered pig.

The pain was so intense that even Obito, the original victim, felt uncomfortable watching.

But Jingyan didn't care.

A science student is good at calculation.

To him, once you act, you act thoroughly.

Otherwise, revenge will come endlessly later.

If he had stepped on the neck just now, it could have been fatal.

He wasn't afraid to kill—since becoming a ninja, he had already prepared himself for that.

But killing… wasn't something someone his age should do.

So—

"Obito, I'm out of strength," Jingyan said coldly.

"The other side… is up to you."

Obito froze again.

He pointed at himself nervously.

"M-Me?"

Do they really have to be this ruthless?

Instinctively, Obito wanted to refuse.

But a voice in his heart told him—

If he refused now, he might lose this friend who was willing to fight for him.

The hesitation on his face slowly faded. Obito took a deep breath and looked firmly at Jingyan.

"Alright! We face things together!"

He raised his small foot high, aimed at the Hyuga boy's right shoulder, closed his eyes—

"Crack!"

"AAAAHHHH!!!"

...

As the sun set, the two exhausted boys finally parted ways at a crossroads.

There was a different feeling in their eyes when they looked at each other.

Obito never imagined that his gentle desk mate could be so fierce when he got serious.

Jingyan, on the other hand, felt a bit conflicted.

"I can't be this impulsive in the future…"

Looking at the slanting sun, the boy muttered softly.

After all, a man of knowledge should still keep a low profile…
