Chapter 5: Assassin in the Moonlight
The streets of Valeria Town were quiet that evening. Lanterns flickered, casting long shadows on cobblestone alleys. Kael's boots echoed as he walked, the Moonlit Fang strapped to his back.
He had survived the Trial of Shadows, gained power, and leveled up—but a nagging feeling in his chest told him that the real threat had already arrived.
A soft whisper reached him, carried by the wind: "Kael…"
He froze. The voice was low, deliberate… and deadly.
From the darkness, a figure dropped silently onto the street before him. Black garb, daggers gleaming, eyes like molten gold.

Kael drew Moonlit Fang, letting it hum with light. "I don't know who you are, but I'm not the same weakling you killed before."
The assassin's smile was sharp and cruel. "Neither am I the same…"
With a blur, he dashed forward. Kael's instincts kicked in. He had learned combo timing from the Trial—he could chain sword strikes and magic without wasting energy.

Before Kael could respond, a silver dart whizzed past his neck. Reflexively, he summoned a light barrier, deflecting it.
