Normally, I wouldn't give a rat's ass where Ruin went. Or what happened to him.
But what happened tonight wasn't normal. Every time I tried to force myself under the covers, I remember what his skin looked like, how it burned and sizzled. How frightened he looked in that moment. How wounded and vulnerable he seemed.
And then I lost sleep. I lost it entirely and began searching for him.
The problem is, no one's seen him anywhere. The entire castle's in a disarray, searching room after room, looking along the perimeter, the woods, everywhere for Ruin.
No one's spotted him and it has been hours since the search began. It is driving me mad with worry, thinking he could be hurt somewhere.
Or worse.
It didn't really do us wolves any good if the only heir left to the Vampyr throne disappeared within our home.
But I wish I could say that's the only reason I was worried.
