Chapter 3: A Guild Newcomer, the Magic of the Sun!
Join a guild?
Looking at the quest that refreshed today, Roland raised an eyebrow slightly.
Although the quest didn't specify which guild to join, since he had already come to this world—
Roland instinctively glanced at the girl beside him who was covering her face with a book, currently in a state of shyness.
Indeed, Fairy Tail would be the most suitable choice.
...
"—Wait! You said you plan to join a guild!?"
Hearing Roland's plans for the day, Levy widened her eyes instantly, feeling a mix of secret delight and nervousness rising within her.
Could it be for her sake...
Although Levy felt she might be overthinking it, she couldn't suppress such thoughts deep down.
"Ah, I've been traveling long enough, and the scenery of this town is quite nice too, so I want to stay here for a while."
Standing by the open window, enjoying the morning sunlight and the increasingly vibrant Magical Power within him, Roland couldn't help but smile.
He could clearly feel that his current strength far surpassed what it was yesterday afternoon.
And this Magical Power belonging to the Sun was still rapidly growing with time, as if without any upper limit.
A... a while?
Sitting in her chair, Levy noticed his wording, her smile stiffening briefly. But she soon took a deep breath, mustering her courage to ask, "How long does this 'a while' refer to?"
"There are quite a few guilds near this town."
"If you have a specific timeframe, I can help you find a more suitable guild!"
Hearing the excuse the girl quickly came up with, Roland shook his head in amusement, then pinched his chin, pretending to ponder seriously. "Five or six years, I suppose... Of course, if I find a suitable partner, I might not leave at all."
Partner?!
Originally feeling somewhat disappointed upon hearing the first part, Levy's eyes instantly lit up after he finished his last sentence.
"Is that so? In that case—" The girl suppressed her inner excitement, curling the corners of her mouth as she raised her fair, slender index finger, speaking with feigned seriousness, "Then it has to be Fairy Tail!"
"As the only first-class magic guild in Magnolia Town, aside from commissions with high rewards, its lively atmosphere is something other small guilds can't compare to!"
Saying this, Levy slightly turned her body, showing the guild mark on her left shoulder, and hummed lightly with a slight smile, "Besides, I'm in that guild too. If Roland joins, I can help you!"
"Fairy Tail, huh..."
That's exactly what I was waiting for you to say.
Under the girl's expectant gaze, Roland smiled and nodded.
"Then I'll leave it to you, Miss Levy."
Since they were in the girls' dormitory, the two didn't linger too long in this 'library.'
"The guild opens at seven, there's still an hour left. Perfect, I'll take you to the town center to familiarize yourself and grab breakfast along the way!"
Wearing a sleeveless dress, Levy clasped her hands behind her back, saying cheerfully with a smile.
Naturally, Roland had no objections to this arrangement.
After all, from the moment he crossed over until now, he hadn't even had a sip of water.
"I'll pay you back slowly once I have money later."
The boy's gentle, smiling voice sounded beside her, causing Levy's petite body to tremble slightly.
She instinctively halted her steps, quickly waving her hands as she said, "N-no, it's fine! It's just a small amount of money..."
Watching Levy's flustered appearance, Roland couldn't help but chuckle.
How adorable, Miss Levy.
...
Walking along the street paved with white marble, Roland curiously glanced around.
But soon, he noticed something unusual.
Several women and young girls who had made eye contact with him earlier had unconsciously stopped walking, all stealing glances at him with slightly flushed faces.
One young girl even hesitated for a moment before quietly following him.
This Love Spot... is truly overwhelmingly potent.
Roland lowered his head and thought to himself.
Inside the restaurant.
Considering that Roland hadn't eaten since yesterday afternoon and evening, Levy specifically ordered plenty of croissants and steaks, along with two strawberry cakes for dessert.
After finishing breakfast, it was time for what Roland had been most looking forward to.
Passing through the bustling streets, he soon spotted a massive three-story guild building constructed from wood and stone, located in the town center.
Above the main entrance hung a brightly colored guild emblem flag fluttering in the wind, alongside a huge silver signboard—Fairy Tail!
"Let's go, I'll take you to find Mira-nee!" Levy said cheerfully, then took his hand and quickly led him inside the guild.
The guild's spacious hall was filled with numerous wooden tables and chairs. A mission board covered with request forms stood nearby, and not far away was a bar counter.
Overall, the place resembled a bar more than a guild.
Since the guild had just opened, the hall was practically empty, with only a white-haired girl in a dress standing behind the bar counter.
She seemed to notice their presence, a gentle smile appearing on her delicate face as she greeted, "Good morning, Levy."
"Good morning, Mira-nee!" Levy smiled, pushing Roland forward and introducing him, "This is Roland, a traveler from another continent who happens to want to join our guild!"
"Hello, Miss Mirajane."
Roland nodded with a smile.
Upon seeing the young man before her, Mirajane was momentarily stunned before her eyes widened in surprise.
She could feel her breathing and heartbeat uncontrollably quickening.
What kind of strange magic is this?
Covering her mouth with the signboard in her hand, her eyes instinctively turned toward Roland.
Yet... she couldn't sense any overflow of Magical Power.
As a former S-Class Mage, she could still determine whether someone was using magic.
If it wasn't magic, then where was this strange feeling coming from?
Though deeply puzzled, Mirajane suppressed her inner shyness and once again wore a sunny smile on her face.
"Mr. Roland, are you planning to join our guild?"
"Yes."
Looking at the blushing barmaid, Roland thought it might be more appropriate to buy a pair of glasses.
Otherwise, by the afternoon, he'd likely have charmed every woman in the guild.
—Better not cause so much trouble for himself.
"Are you a Mage, by any chance?" Mirajane blinked, asking softly.
Hearing this question, Levy also looked over curiously: "As a traveler, Roland should know quite a few spells, right?"
"I'm a Mage, but I don't know many spells," Roland nodded.
Currently, the only magic he knew was one called "Sun."
But it was enough.
"So have you decided on the color and where to place the guild stamp?"
After completing the simple registration, Mirajane took out a stamp from behind the counter, tilting her head with a sweet smile.
She's kind of cute...
Roland cleared his throat lightly, trying not to look at her.
"Just on the left arm, and for the color... let's go with gold."
As Mirajane pressed it gently onto his left arm, a brilliant golden stamp appeared on his skin.
The process of joining the guild was surprisingly simple—or was it because Levy introduced him?
Roland couldn't help but wonder.
At the same time, the system's voice rang out again.
["Welcome, New Guild Member!" completed. Please claim the mission reward!]
[Detected that the host has joined a guild. Two additional mission slots have been unlocked. From now on, three missions will be issued daily.]
