Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

The Pokémon That Changed Fate

Alex checked Leon's status panel in his mind one last time.

Protagonist Status Panel

Name: Leon Ashford Title: Protagonist of Rise of the Urban Pokémon Champion Personality: Selfish Age: 18 Luck: 9000

Alex mentally shrugged.

Still too high… but manageable.

He glanced at his remaining system points.

9000 points… ninety million dollars worth.

In Alex's mind, a huge, fat sheep made of gold happily rolled around.

Nice.

The Dungeon Trial Begins

The classroom door opened with a creak.

A middle-aged man with a sharp gaze stepped in.

"Everyone, listen up," the teacher said.

"This is Instructor Rowan Hale. From now on, I'll be supervising your beginner Pokémon trial."

The class straightened instantly.

"You have one hour," Hale continued.

"Enter the dungeon zone, find your first Pokémon, and capture it."

"Survive, don't be reckless, and don't fight other students."

Everyone nodded eagerly.

"Dismissed."

Before Splitting Up

As the students began heading out, Alex turned to Cornelia and Euphemia.

"Let's meet after this is over."

Both nodded immediately.

"See you later," Alex added with a grin.

"Little Eupy… and little pig."

Cornelia froze.

Her face turned red instantly.

"DON'T—call me that!"

Alex waved and walked off casually.

Behind him—

Cornelia stomped her foot.

"That idiot!"

Euphemia giggled softly.

"Sister, your face is completely red."

"T-That's not the point!"

Leon's Jealousy

Leon watched the scene from afar.

His nails dug into his palms.

Those were supposed to be mine.

Euphemia and Cornelia—

The girls who always rejected him.

The girls who never even looked his way.

And now—

They were smiling because of Alex.

That bastard…

Leon's eyes darkened.

I'll make them regret it.

Dialga's Warning

As Alex walked deeper into the dungeon zone, a calm voice echoed in his mind.

Dialga:

"Alex… that one called Leon holds killing intent toward you."

Alex didn't even stop walking.

"Thanks for watching over me, Dialga."

His eyes sharpened slightly.

"Don't worry.

If he tries anything… I'll make him pay."

Dialga fell silent—but approving.

Canon Location — Broken Fate

Alex followed the familiar path from the canon timeline.

Rusty rocks.

Iron-rich ground.

Faint metallic echoes.

Then—

A small Aron appeared from behind a boulder.

The little Steel-type trembled, clearly wary of humans.

Alex didn't rush.

Instead, a gentle green aura flowed from him—

Verdant Power.

He slowly crouched and extended his hand.

"It's okay," Alex said softly.

"I won't hurt you."

Aron blinked.

For the first time—

It didn't feel fear.

It felt safe.

Alex gently patted its head.

"Do you want to be my Pokémon?"

Aron hesitated.

Then nodded.

Clink.

The Poké Ball tapped Aron's head.

One shake.

Two shakes.

Three—

Click.

Captured.

Alex smiled faintly.

"One more chain broken."

Extra Gains

Alex scanned the area calmly.

Behind a broken tree stump—

A glowing item.

Sharp Beak.

"Nice."

Perfect for Bagon after it hatches.

He also gathered several high-quality berries before exiting the dungeon.

Reunion

Outside, Cornelia and Euphemia arrived almost at the same time.

Alex looked at their Pokémon.

Euphemia held a Bulbasaur, smiling proudly.

Cornelia stood beside a fierce-looking Shinx.

Alex nodded approvingly.

"Good choices."

Then he smirked.

"I thought you'd choose Tepig, little pig."

Cornelia exploded.

"I SAID DON'T CALL ME THAT!"

Alex leaned closer teasingly.

"If I don't, how will I see your cute flustered face every day?"

Cornelia's brain shut down.

Steam practically rose from her head.

Euphemia laughed openly now.

"Sister, you're losing again."

"T-THIS IS A CONSPIRACY!"

Alex chuckled.

Behind them—

Leon stepped out of the dungeon.

Empty-handed.

His face pale.

His future—

Quietly collapsing.
