Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Alexander packed lightly—only what he needed for three days.

No luxury.

No nonsense.

He left the Runcandel mansion riding Garchomp, cutting through the sky like a blade.

After some time, the vast outline of the D-rank dungeon zone appeared.

Alexander landed smoothly and recalled Garchomp.

"Rest well," he said. "I'll handle the rest."

At the dungeon entrance, security personnel straightened instantly when Alexander raised his hand.

The Runcandel crest ring gleamed.

"Young Master!"

They saluted sharply and immediately cleared the way.

Alexander stepped inside calmly.

He released Beldum.

"Get ready," Alexander said. "Training starts now."

Beldum hovered, eyes glowing slightly—

And nodded.

Trainer and Pokémon stepped into the dungeon together.

Their journey had officially begun.

Meanwhile — Valencrest Mansion

The atmosphere was heavy.

Evelyn Runcandel sat calmly in the main hall, legs crossed elegantly.

Beside her stood Grayfia Lucifuge, silent and sharp-eyed.

Roland Valencrest—Lunaria's father—stood across from them, forcing a polite smile.

"Chairwoman Runcandel," Roland said nervously, "to what do we owe the honor—"

Evelyn cut him off.

"The Runcandel House is canceling the engagement between Alexander Argus Runcandel and Lunaria Valencrest."

Roland's face drained of color.

"…W-What?"

Evelyn tapped her tablet.

Images appeared.

Lunaria.

Leon Ashford.

Holding hands.

Hugging.

Kissing.

Roland collapsed into his chair.

"S-That stupid girl—!"

Evelyn's voice was calm.

"I didn't come here just to break an engagement," she said. "I came to discuss mental damages."

Roland stiffened.

"My son," Evelyn continued, "was hospitalized because of your daughter."

The room went cold.

"If it weren't for your father, Alaric Valencrest, who was a close friend of my father-in-law," Evelyn said slowly,

"this engagement would never have existed."

"And because of that engagement," she continued,

"your Valencrest family rose from nothing to a 200-million-dollar company."

She leaned forward slightly.

"So tell me, Roland Valencrest."

"What did my son receive in return?"

Roland's wife, Marianne Valencrest, turned pale.

Roland's brothers stood frozen.

Evelyn's eyes were cold.

"A two-faced woman who liked my son's money—but not my son."

She tilted her head.

"So now I'll ask you."

"What should I do… to your daughter?"

Fear flooded the room.

Everyone knew the Runcandel name.

Without them—

The Valencrest family would be devoured by enemies they'd made along the way.

Roland swallowed hard.

"I-I apologize," he said shakily. "We'll compensate the Runcandel House. Anything you want."

Evelyn nodded.

Grayfia handed over a list.

Roland read it—and nearly fainted.

Three D-rank dungeons Two B-rank dungeons All Runcandel Group contracts terminated

"…We agree," Roland said hoarsely.

The transfers were completed.

Evelyn stood.

"This matter is settled."

She turned and left with Grayfia.

After they were gone—

The mansion exploded.

"That stupid girl!!"

"Do you know what she's done?!"

"She ruined everything!!"

Roland clenched his fists, shaking with rage.

Lunaria Valencrest had just destroyed her family.

Back in the Dungeon

Alexander stepped forward, Beldum floating beside him.

Unaware—or perhaps uncaring—

The first stone of his revenge had already crushed his enemies.
