'I can't lose him.' Ren reached a conclusion after several minutes of non-stop chase.
His boots pounded against the stone road as he pushed his body harder.
He could sense the danger that was right behind him.
His heart hammered against his chest, which only deepened the blush on Selene's face.
She knew they were being attacked, but being carried like a princess was something even more absurd to think about especially in their current situation, leaving her thoughts in complete disarray.
'Are you ready?' And the reply came without delay.
'Y-yes prince.'
A row of houses separated Ren's street from the next one on the left, where his vermyrex was running in parallel. At his command, it leapt onto the wall and scaled the building in a single motion.
And at once, it struck the figure that kept chasing the duo.
A vermyrex's stealth was something that even Ren with his beastly sense couldn't detect, so how could a normal human?
Unless the human wasn't a normal awakener.
