The next day, Zetsun woke up in the morning and got ready for his office.
Once again,
he stepped back into his normal routine, walking along the same road as always.
Suddenly, he noticed an old man holding a cat tightly in his arms.
Curious, Zetsun walked closer—and his heart skipped a beat.
It was the same black-and-white cat.
Zetsun asked,
"Why are you holding this cat like that?"
The old man replied angrily,
"This cat stole my fish. I won't let it go."
Zetsun quickly said,
"This cat is mine."
The cat stared at Zetsun with a shocked expression, its eyes wide.
The old man scoffed and said,
"If you can't take care of your cat, you should think a hundred times before keeping one."
The old man continued scolding Zetsun nonstop.
After at least ten minutes, he finally stopped talking.
Zetsun took the cat and brought it back to his house.
Nervously, Zetsun asked,
"What do you want from me?"
The cat replied coldly,
"You will have to pay for your mistake. And no one will come to save you."
Zetsun said in fear,
"What mistake have I made? I'm just an ordinary person."
The cat said mockingly,
"Your house smells really bad."
Zetsun glared at the cat and replied,
"I'll deal with you later."
Then Zetsun asked angrily,
"Why is all this happening only to me?
And what about the people who crossed that zebra crossing and disappeared?"
The cat replied,
"It seems you've forgotten your mistake."
Zetsun asked,
"What mistake?"
The cat said,
"I'm the one who made those people disappear."
Zetsun froze.
"What do you mean?"
The cat continued,
"I chose those people who belong to our world—
people who couldn't achieve anything big in life
and who were drowning in depression."
Zetsun whispered,
"Another world…?"
The cat nodded.
"Yes. And to go to that world, you must cross that zebra crossing.
That's the only way."
Zetsun asked,
"What does a zebra crossing have to do with all this?"
The cat replied angrily,
"Say whatever you want—we will never forgive you.
For the sin you committed, our Maharaj will never forgive you."
Zetsun shouted,
"What sin did I commit?!"
The cat answered,
"You killed Zeblish—our queen."
Zetsun's voice trembled.
"Queen…?"
"Yes," the cat said.
"The queen of our land.
Our king has ordered us to kill you."
Zetsun's mind started racing.
Too many thoughts flooded his head.
He locked the cat inside his room and left for his office.
Even at work, his mind was restless.
As soon as he arrived, he heard shocking news—
a new member was joining the office for a few days.
Zetsun was stunned.
It was the same detective—Hakura.
Hakura had joined intentionally, just to stay close to Zetsun.
When Zetsun met him, he told Hakura everything about the cat.
Hakura burst out laughing.
"What?!
A cat kidnapped all the missing people?"
Hakura joked,
"Bro, I knew your mind was messed up too."
Zetsun stayed silent.
Hakura continued,
"Even if that were true, we would've seen something on the CCTV footage.
But nothing like that ever happened."
