CHAPTER 14 : THE SECOND WEEK ON THE OCEAN OF AETHERION πβπ
Their journey across the vast ocean of Aetherion had now entered its second week. π
Erik, Arden, and Rocky were slowly adapting to the harsh life of the sea. Every morning, Rocky raised and secured the ship's sail, crafted from thick, reinforced animal hide, while Erik inspected their food supplies and weapons, both the Gewehr-43 and the Sword of Soul βοΈ. Arden carefully prepared his grandfather's magic staff and his blue rune Trident, ensuring both were ready at any moment. π
Out in the open ocean, the waves often rose high, rolling like moving hills beneath the ship. π
"We need to stay sharp," Erik said as he fired a few warning shots into the air to scare away seabirds getting too close to their supplies. π¦
Arden activated his Trident, its blue glow reflecting across the water, revealing large schools of fish circling beneath the hull.
That day, trouble arrived in the form of a sudden storm. β‘πͺοΈ
The wind slammed into the sail with brutal force. Rocky braced himself, gripping the ship with his massive stone arms, while Erik and Arden worked together to adjust the ropes and anchors to keep the vessel stable.
"If the sail tears, we'll be dragged straight into the open sea!" Arden shouted, gripping his glowing Trident as it pulsed with energy.
Night fell, and stars filled the sky. That was when they encountered it. π
A colossal sea creature emerged from the depths, its body as large as a small mountain, crystal-like scales shimmering in the moonlight, its eyes glowing a menacing red.
Erik raised the Sword of Soul and fired luminous shots from the Gewehr-43, the bullets streaking across the dark sea. Arden swung his Trident, its runes blazing as waves of energy surged through the water, crashing violently around the beast. Rocky stepped forward, slamming his massive stone foot into the sea, creating towering waves to block the creature's advance. ππ₯
After a fierce struggle, the creature finally retreated into the depths, leaving behind a violently rocking ship and heavy silence.
"We must be more careful," Arden said, activating his magic staff to calm the surrounding waters. β‘β¨
"This ocean is full of secrets."
They eventually settled down, sharing their food as Rocky ignited a small controlled flame on the deck to prepare a warm soup. π²
That night felt calm, almost peaceful.
Yet deep down, all three of them knew the truth.
Their trials on the Ocean of Aetherion had only just begun. ππ
