The transition out of a localized solar warp was not a graceful maneuver. When The Ascendant violently dropped back into standard physical space, it felt like the colossal dreadnought had collided with a solid wall of kinetic fury.
Orion cut the plasma drive the second they cleared the warp tunnel. The massive Ironwood hull shrieked in protest. Deep within the central engineering bay, the infinitely deep sapphire waters of the hydrostatic core violently sloshed and crested, absorbing the massive deceleration shock to perfectly maintain the artificial gravity of the deck.
"We have exited warp," Zenith shouted over the deafening groan of the living wood. The twelve-year-old Architect gripped his console tightly as the massive, transparent digital viewport rapidly populated with a flood of terrifying telemetry data. "But the destination coordinate is completely broken. We are sitting in the middle of a kinetic storm."
