CHAPTER FOUR
"Miss Nyra, are you sure you can do this job? We've went through your resume and you're quite good. But we still have to ask this. Because you're the fifth cleaner we're hiring this month." Mrs. Blackwell said, eyeing her weak and fragile body.
Nyra nervously arranged the old coat she was wearing.
"I'm sure, Ma. I promise you that you'll never regret hiring me." Nyra said firmly, with sure eyes.
"Hmmm...." Mrs Blackwell hesitated. She then brought out a folded paper from her expensive handbag and handed it to Nyra.
Nyra quickly cleaned her sweaty hands on her cloth and collected the paper.
"This is our daily routine in this house. You must follow each of it. You can clean anywhere in the house except the room at the end of the hallway in the second floor." Mrs Blackwell finally said. Nyra sighed happily.
"Thank you so much, Ma!" She said going on her knees.
"No problem. As long as you do your work well, and most importantly, not piss my daughter off, you can keep your job for the remaining days of the month." Mrs Vale said, moving away from Nyra as if irritation by her gratitude. Nyra awkwardly stood up and bowed respectfully.
"Don't worry, ma. I'll surely do my job well and respect everyone in this household." She assured.
"Good." Mr Vale said. "You can start today. My daughter's room is a mess since whe fired the other mess. You see, Nyra, My daughter has quite a temper. You should do whatever she says if you want to keep your job. She's our only child... By the way, your uniform is just in the storage room__ the second room by the right." Mr Vale pointed towards a room which could be seen from the living room.
"O.. Okay, Ma." Nyra nodded.
"I'll be heading out now. Don't forget to go through the routine." She commanded.
"I will. Thank you, ma." Nyra said.
"Mmm..." Mrs Vale mumbled as she exited the house.
Nyra stood staring at the exit for a while.
"These rich people and their spoilt daughter. A girl firing servants however she wants." She whispered, shaking her head before walking towards the servants room.
---
"Is she even a virgin?" Camille asked, eyeing Elara curiously.
Adrian and Landon exchange knowing glances.
"Only one way to find out." Landon said.
Elara's eyes widened in realization. She screamed, her body trembling. But it seemed no one was hearing her.
Just then, the door was pushed open and a guy walked in. The five of them turned, anger written on their faces.
"Fuck!" Seraphina yelled, irritated.
"Are you mad? Can't you see we're busy here?" Landon shouted.
Elara slowly lifted her gaze and saw a guy standing a few steps away from them. He was wearing the school uniform and a black mask covered a part of his face. He had this strange aura___ cold, unfamiliar, with a hot and perfectly masculine figure.
"Get out!" Adrian thundered at the guy.
The guy only stared coldly at them and chuckled, unmoved.
"You sure have a sharp tongue, so sharp that you can cut your mouth with it." He said, his voice cold.
"You___" Adrian said charging towards the guy, but Seraphina stopped him and turned to the guy, herself.
"What's your name, hotie?" Seraphina asked sweetly but he only stared at her with an unreadable expression in his eyes.
"How about you walk away and I'll allow you be my lackey for a month. A hot guy like you shouldn't be wasting your time being a hero to this hideous girl. Or... are you hideous too? Is that why you're wearing a mask?" Seraphina asked and smirked. The others chuckled loudly.
The guy scoffed and removed his mask. The whole room paused and Seraphina gasped. The face was now familiar and it was a face that almost everybody in L.A knew.
"Is that... Julian Xander?" Violet said, a gasp escaping her shaking lips.
Seraphina's hand tightened in surprise.
What is he doing in this school, wearing the uniform? I thought he had gone to Paris for some business stuff?
Adrian and Landon stood nervously, unable to speak or move with a Julian standing before them.
Elara, who was still on the floor, was stupified as well. She've heard alot about him. Julian Xander, the Golden prince of L.A. His father was the richest man in Los Angeles and he was hardly seen in the public. And now, he was standing close to her, playing her hero.
"Seraphina, It seems you're quite the fun type at school." Julian said, his gaze cold on her.
The others quickly turned to Seraphina, surprised.
"Do you know him?" Camille asked, her hand nervously pinching Seraphina's blouse. Seraphina knocked her hand off and whispered.
"Of course I do. He's Julian Xander. Who doesn't know him?"
"Aren't you gonna introduce me to your lackeys?" Julian asked stepping closer to Seraphina as she moved back, shaking.
"He.... He's the guy I told you guys I have a childhood betrothal with." She said, forcing the words out of her throat.
"What?" They all screamed, surprise.
"Now, do I need to tell you all to scram?" Julian asked, almost shouting.
Violet, Adrian and Landon quickly ran out. As Seraphina wanted to follow them, Julian pulled her back and landed a tight slap on her left cheek. Seraphina held her cheekz
tightly. Her face went pale in shock.
"Do your parents know that you bully at school?" He asked angrily.
"Is that why you slapped me?" She asked, tears gathering in her eyes.
"Was that slap too light?" Julian answered, sarcastically.
"I'm your fiancee, for heaven sake." Seraphina yelled, now angry. She felt both embarrassed and degraded being slapped by her future man, in front of the girl she bullies freely.
"Since when? Since when did I put a fucking ring on your finger and say a shit like you is my fiancee?" He asked. His voice was deep and anger was clear in it.
Seraphina was surprised by his statement. She couldn't imagine that something like this would happen.
"I can't believe you, right now. I'm your betrothed wife. We'll get married as soon as I finish my education and I graduate. And you slapped me for this worthless piece of shit?!" Seraphina asked pointing at Elara.
"I believe this girl you call a worthless piece of shit has a name... a family, and people that loves her. Don't she?"
Seraphina opened her lips to speak but she was speechless.
"Now, Get out!" Julian said, his voice dripping with authority.
"What?"
"Get the fuck out of her before I loose it!" He yelled and Seraphina jerked, tears spilling out of her eyes. She shot Elara a deadly look and Elara quickly looked down, fear gripping her.
"You'll pay for this!" She whispered and ran out.
Julian took a deep breath suppresing his anger before turning to Elara. Elara quickly used her hand to cover her body, her face flushed in embarrassment. Julian thoughtfully removed his jacket and covered her with it.
"Are you okay?" He asked calmly.
"I... I'm fine!" Elara whispered, nervously avoiding his gaze.
"Here, let me help you up." He said and supported her up.
"Thanks..."
"It's fine. I'm sorry about Seraphina. She just have a bad temper." Julian said, his gaze soft.
Of course, you'll support her. She's your fiancee after all. Elara thought. Her gaze slowly met his and she was mesmerized by his handsomeness.
Suddenly, the school bell rang distracting her, awkwardly.
"I... I'll be heading to class. Thank you." Elara quickly said and ran off.
"Put on the jacket!" He screamed behind her but she ran off anyway.
