Tuesday morning. 8:22 a.m.
The office was quiet. Rain tapped the windows in soft rhythm.
Kasia walked in without knocking. Black blouse, gray skirt, obsidian necklace catching the light. She carried two coffees.
She set one on my desk.
"Tomasz met her again last night," she said. "Her place. Dinner in. Two hours. Left at 11:14. No overnight."
I took the coffee. Sipped.
"Photos?"
She tapped her tablet. Files arrived.
I opened them.
First: Tomasz at her door, flowers in hand. She smiling. Welcoming.
Second: through the window, dinner table. Candles. Her laughing. His hand on hers.
Third: goodbye at the door. Kiss. Longer than before. Her arms around his neck.
I closed the folder.
"She's comfortable."
Kasia nodded.
"She is. She called him this morning. Asked if he's free Friday. Said she wants to cook for him."
I leaned back.
"Good."
Kasia studied me.
"You're not going to intervene?"
"No."
She stepped closer.
Knelt between my legs.
Unzipped me.
I didn't stop her.
