Chapter 9 - Bab.9

After it was over, Roni finally realized that Miya had already fallen asleep. Only the sound of her steady breathing could be heard. Roni got up from the bed, took a blanket, and carefully covered Miya's body. He looked around at the messy bed, then shook his head and walked out of the room to rest on the sofa. As soon as his body touched the sofa, he immediately fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, after finishing breakfast, Bobi drove Roni home. "Bob, aren't you coming in for a bit?" Roni offered. "Maybe next time. I still have some things to take care of. You should rest first. I'll let you know when it's time for you to work," Bobi replied. "Alright, take care on the road," Roni answered before going inside the house.

After slowly opening the gate, Roni walked toward Maya's front door. However, just as he reached the door, he heard screams coming from inside the house. The sound made Roni immediately rush in.

"Maya! Why are you screaming? Didn't you say you missed me? I miss you too. What's wrong with doing it just once…" said a man, who turned out to be Maya's ex-husband, Anton.

"Are you crazy?! We're already divorced, Anton. Please let me go! I don't want this!" Maya shouted as she tried to resist. But Anton did not let her go easily. He forcefully held Maya's hands while trying to kiss her.

Anton came to Maya's house with a clear intention. He admitted that he missed his ex-wife's body, even though he already had a legal wife. Somehow, the image of Maya's body always haunted his mind, especially after seeing her come out of the bathroom wearing only a towel.

"Maya, why are you so surprised?" Anton asked calmly, even though his gaze was clearly roaming over Maya's body. "No… I just didn't expect you to come. What do you want?" Maya replied nervously.

"I just wanted to visit. Even though we're divorced, there's nothing wrong with me stopping by for a bit, right?" Anton said casually. His eyes remained fixed on Maya's body, especially her calves that were clearly visible beneath the towel.

"It's fine if you come, but don't you already have a wife? You'd better not come here again. I don't want your wife to misunderstand," Maya said while keeping her distance. "Relax, she doesn't know. And even if she does, I'll explain it myself," Anton said, trying to reassure her.

Maya nodded slowly, then said, "Alright. Wait a moment. I want to change my clothes first." She stepped toward her room, but suddenly Anton pulled her body from behind.

"No need to put on clothes, Maya. After all, you'll have to take them off again for me later," Anton whispered while kissing Maya's neck.

"Anton! Let me go! What are you doing?!" Maya cried out, panicked and shocked. She tried to break free, but Anton tightened his embrace.

"Maya, I know you miss this too. Honestly, I miss your body," Anton said as he tried to pull the towel covering Maya's body.

"Anton, let go! You bastard!" Maya shouted even louder.

Just as Anton was about to unzip his pants, Roni suddenly entered the house. The sight made Roni furious. "Damn it! Let her go! You crazy bastard, what are you doing?!" Roni shouted as he roughly pulled Anton away.

Without thinking twice, Roni threw a hard punch at Anton's face, causing his nose to bleed instantly.

Anton was clearly shocked. He did not expect anyone to enter Maya's house. He should have locked the door earlier, but now it was too late. He could only hold himself back after being punched by Roni.

"Who are you?! How dare you barge in and accuse me like this!" Anton snapped, though his voice sounded slightly shaken.

"Who I am doesn't matter! What matters is that you're trying to violate someone by force! You have no shame!" Roni replied firmly. He did not yet know that Anton was Maya's ex-husband.

Anton tried to remain calm and said, "I'm her ex-husband! We both want this, so you don't need to interfere. Now get out of here before I lose my patience!" he said lightly.

Roni laughed cynically. "Oh, so you're her ex-husband? So what if you are? You're just an ex, you don't have any rights over her anymore! Didn't she clearly reject you just now? And you still forced her? If you don't leave right now, I'll scream so everyone knows about your filthy actions!" Roni threatened without hesitation.

Anton, who had been relaxed earlier, now began to feel afraid. He stepped back, trying to avoid further trouble. "Watch yourself! I'll remember your face!" he said angrily as he walked away.

"If you need to, write it down or paint my face! Bastard!" Roni replied, not the least bit intimidated by Anton's threat.

After Anton left, Roni approached Maya, who was still sitting on the floor. He helped adjust Maya's towel that was almost slipping off. Roni saw Maya crying uncontrollably, looking deeply traumatized by what had just happened.

"It's okay, Miss. He's gone now. You can calm down," Roni said, trying to comfort Maya.

Maya immediately collapsed into Roni's arms, her body still trembling as tears continued to flow. "Thank you so much. If you hadn't come earlier, I don't know what he would have done to me. I was so scared…" Maya said in a broken voice amid her sobs.

Roni hugged Maya tightly while gently stroking her back. "It's okay, Miss. Nothing will happen anymore. I'll make sure of that. Now stop crying, okay?" he said softly, trying to soothe her.

After a while, the atmosphere began to ease. Maya stopped crying and tried to smile, though her face still looked anxious. Suddenly, Maya remembered something. Her expression turned worried again.

"Roni… Anton will definitely come looking for you. He's not an ordinary person. He has many thug friends around here. It would be better if you just left this place," Maya said, her voice full of concern.

Roni slowly shook his head and smiled faintly. "I'm not afraid at all, Miss. Whether he's a policeman, a thug, or a gangster, I don't care. The only thing I'm afraid of is if something happens to you," Roni said with confidence.

"But he's really dangerous, Roni. You don't understand…" Maya tried to warn him again.

"I don't care, Miss. The point is, I'm not afraid," Roni said firmly.

Hearing that answer, Maya hugged Roni again. This time, she truly felt comfortable and safe in his arms. All her fear seemed to vanish.

"Oh yes, Miss. Sorry I just got home now. I stayed over at Bobi's house last night," Roni said, trying to change the subject so the atmosphere would no longer feel tense.

"One night without being touched by you feels so torturous. I don't want to be left alone for too long anymore," Maya said teasingly. Somehow, every time she was with Roni, there was always an urge within her to stay close, even wanting something more intimate.

"You're something else, Miss. Try to get used to it next time, okay? Who knows, tomorrow you might be busy, or maybe I will be. Alright then, if you miss me, let's wait until tonight. After all, Roni is already home," Roni replied casually. He understood the direction of Maya's words, which were clearly meant to tease and invite him right then and there. However, due to exhaustion and sleepiness from the previous night with Miya, Roni only promised time for later that night.

"Alright, I'll wait until tonight. I still remember your promise that you wanted to do it for hours with me," Maya teased with a soft, flirtatious laugh. Deep down, Roni briefly thought that if he weren't so tired, he might have responded to that tease right away.

"Alright, Miss, whatever later then. Oh yeah, I'm still sleepy, Miss. May I rest for a bit?" Roni asked, his eyes looking heavy as he struggled to stay awake.

"Sure, go sleep in Miss's room. I think I'm going to the hospital for a bit, to record the stock of medicines that have run out," Maya replied with a smile.

"Alright, Miss. Take care. Roni will sleep now," Roni said briefly before heading toward the room.

Maya simply nodded with a sweet smile. Her face looked cheerful again, especially because Roni had returned home. For Maya, Roni's presence became a source of encouragement, even though he was not an official husband figure.

Every time she was with Roni, Maya always enjoyed their moments without any regret at all. She felt lucky that her profession as a nurse allowed her to control herself from getting pregnant. She had even told Roni about it, so Roni wouldn't worry or feel the need to hold back whenever they were together.

With a light heart, Maya left in her car, still smiling. She deliberately hid the fact that an empty boarding room for Roni was actually already available. She still wanted Roni to continue sleeping with her every night, something that had now become a habit. She was even willing to look for a new tenant for that room, so Roni wouldn't be tempted to move there.

However, just as Maya's car was about to exit the alley, a group of thugs suddenly blocked her path…
