Favour woke up feeling a quiet excitement she hadn't felt in months. Her last chapter had received a few more messages and votes, but what mattered most was the connection she felt with her readers. One message in particular stayed in her mind:
"Your story made me feel brave. Thank you for being honest in your writing."
Her heart swelled. She realized something important: it wasn't the number of people who read her words — it was the impact they had.
That morning, she decided to set a new goal: write daily, but without pressuring herself. She gave herself permission to pause, rest, and enjoy the process. For the first time, she felt balance — a mix of ambition and care for her own heart.
But growth never comes without a challenge. A notification appeared: a writing contest for young authors. The theme was simple, yet terrifying: "Tell a story that inspires hope in a world that feels lost."
Favour hesitated. She could feel the familiar whispers of doubt creeping in:
"What if your story isn't good enough? What if you fail again?"
Her fingers hovered above the keyboard. She remembered her journey — the nights of tears, the first verification, the messages from readers who needed her words. And she remembered the promise she had made to herself:
"I will not disappear."
With a deep breath, she began. Words flowed, not perfectly, but honestly. Characters came alive, scenes unfolded, and emotions poured from her heart onto the page. She allowed herself to write without fear, trusting that her voice mattered.
Hours passed. The sky outside turned from gold to navy, and Favour barely noticed. She typed the last line, reread it, and smiled softly.
She had done it.
For the first time, Favour understood the true power of balance: pursuing dreams with courage, but also with care for her own heart.
