"Bang!"

The door of the Hokage Office was violently pushed open. The Third Hokage, who had been secretly reading under his desk, hastily shoved the book in his hands into a pile of dry mission reports.

Danzo Shimura strode in, his face like a thundercloud, his cane striking the floor with rhythmic, angry thuds. "Hiruzen! I suspect a spy from an outside village has infiltrated Konoha to spread this vulgar literature and slander my name!"

He slammed a gaudily bound book onto the desk. It was the same one Hiruzen had just hidden: the sensation sweeping the Ninja World, The Romantic Ninjutsu Tales of Shimura.

Hiruzen Sarutobi cleared his throat and calmly opened the volume. "Danzo, although the protagonist is named 'Shimura,' the text describes a young man who is 'seven feet tall, rugged, and handsome'..." His gaze lingered on Danzo's wrinkled, one-eyed face for a second too long. The look clearly said: You shouldn't flatter yourself.

Danzo's face turned a shade of purple. "This is clearly an insinuation! This libertine is ruining the reputation of the Shimura clan!"

"Putting that aside," the Hokage mused, suppressing a smile, "it is remarkably popular. Bookstores are selling out in hours..."

"HIRUZEN!" Danzo's roar shook the window frames. "You indecent old man! This book writes about... about me and Chiyo from the Hidden Sand! Do you have any idea how old that hag is now?"

He flipped frantically to a dog-eared chapter. "Look at these descriptions! If the Sand Village misunderstands this, it could cause an international incident!"

Hiruzen unhurriedly blew a smoke ring. "Danzo, you are being too sensitive. The book clearly states this 'Chiyo' is a kunoichi from the same village as Shimura. It's a fictional setting. Besides," he added, his eyes lighting up as he turned a page, "the scene where Shimura-kun confesses under the moonlight is actually quite romantic."

Danzo's cane creaked as he gripped it, nearly snapping the wood. Outside, the staff of the Hokage Building quickened their pace; no one wanted to be caught in the crossfire of the two elders.

"Kakashi, you seem even more listless than usual!"

Might Guy darted over to his eternal rival, a confident smile playing on his lips. Then he saw the book in Kakashi's hand. It wasn't the orange cover of Icha Icha Paradise.

"Huh? Guy..." Kakashi lifted a heavy eyelid, slumped on a bench like a stranded fish. His dark circles were deep enough to be permanent. "I've discovered a new masterpiece. I'm sorry, but I won't have the energy to spar for a few days..."

Guy examined the cover. "The Romantic Ninjutsu Tales of Shimura? Is this about Elder Danzo's... romantic anecdotes?"

Kakashi mysteriously flipped to a bookmarked section. The explicit, soul-searching descriptions made Guy's face turn a brilliant shade of red. "This... this is even more intense than Jiraiya-sama's work..."

"Give me a break," Kakashi groaned, covering his face with the book. "Once I finish this, I promise to compete. But for now, I must know if Shimura leaves the village."

(Note: While Kakashi ponders the "rotation" of the plot, the technical complexity of the writing style mirrors high-level chakra control.)

Just three days ago, while on a mission, Kakashi had found the book on a target's nightstand. He had intended to scan it for clues but ended up reading it cover-to-cover. He had immediately filed for his accumulated annual leave to immerse himself in the text.

"It's impossible to put down," he murmured. He was conquered by the delicate portrayal of the human heart. The book didn't feature the Five Great Nations or Tailed Beasts; it was a world of chaotic clans where a young man named Shimura harbored the grand ambition of becoming the World's Number One Ninja.

The conflict was agonizing. The heroine, Chiyo, was gentle and resilient, trying every trick to keep Shimura by her side. But Shimura, driven by a dream of greatness, ultimately chose to leave her behind to pursue his path in the warring world.

The helplessness and the choices revealed between the lines made Kakashi think of his own life as a shinobi—the sacrifices made for the "ideal."

"Compared to this... even Jiraiya's work seems slightly unrefined," Kakashi sighed, his fingers trembling with excitement. "This 'Author'... is a genius."
