KAEL'S POV
I knew it was her the second I saw the cuts on Selene's neck.
They weren't clean. Nor professional. They were Ragged, uneven, like someone had pressed too hard and lost control halfway through. Blood crusted in thin lines.
You'd know it was amateur...shaky hands, rage-fueled slips. Selene sat there smirking through the pain, her chains rattling as she tilted her head to show off the damage like a badge.
"Who did this?" I growled, already knowing.
Selene's laugh was wet, bubbling with the blood still seeping. "Who do you think? Your little human pet..
I have a lot of enemies Kael."
Riley.
Of course it was Riley.
I stormed out of the tent, leaving Selene to her smug silence. The guards , Torin and Grim straightened their posture when they saw my face, but I waved them off. This wasn't their mess. It was mine.
