When Severine received Emmett's message to meet there, her first instinct was that it involved Alina. As a precious asset, she didn't wish any harm to befall Alina.
Even though Alina had shown nothing but clear disgust toward both male leads, the threads of fate had a strange power to bring them together again and again.
I can only be more careful, she thought to herself, nearly forgetting the reason for this meeting.
