Football, the most popular sports in the planet with more than half the population of the world being fans. It is the most popular sports in many different countries including this country, our country sretria.
What is it that makes this game so good, so popular and so entertaining I wonder as all my friends and family crowd around in the huge living room in my bestfriend's house to watch a game they tag as the most epic game of the season between two giants fc basa and rel madid.
Frankly I don't like football, all the kids my age seem to enjoy playing and watching it but I don't get it, all I see is them chasing a ball, getting dirty and getting injured many times, I much prefer staying home to watch cartoons, anime and playing hide and seek with friends and even more I've watched a couple of football games but all I saw were adults chasing a ball doing the same thing which eventually made me fall asleep.
That's probably what will happen again now I thought to myself as a yawn escaped my mouth, thinking about it I could be at home watching an awesome cartoon or anime right about now but here I am waiting for a football match to start all because my bestfiend begged me to stay and watch "sigh".
After some more boring minutes of waiting the match kicks off, my bestfriend who was busy running errands for the grown ups finally comes back and sits next to me and begins to explain how fc basa the team on blue and red and rel madrid the team on white are two of the best teams in the world and have been rivals for eternity even though they are from the same league and have faced each other every year this is different because this time they're both battling for the most prestigious trophy in club football The Champions League trophy.
The refree blows the whistle to indicate the starting of the game and as the team in white pass the ball two of their attacking players start running to the flanks and one through the middle soon the ball is played out through the air where no one could reach it landing at the foot of the madid's ace attacker cristian renalo who already has a defender bearing down on him, with a swift footwork he leaves the defender in a daze and gets a shot off which forced the keeper to stretch a the way and manages to keep the ball out just barely and the ball gets to one of the basa defenders leg.
Everybody in the room gasps in sheer astonishment of that shot, even I was wowed by it. The game continues with the basa players holding on to the ball, passing it among themselves the players all staying close to each other to receive it, they pass it quickly and effectively dismantling their opposition making them look like babies clueless as how to collect the ball, the basa players keep on passing while slowly advancing until the ball reached their ace player on the right, with all his teammates close for a pass for the first time the basa player doesn't pass but rather advances on the opponents head on, two defenders run at him to collect the ball the first defender putting his leg to hit the ball only for the ball to simply be kicked to the side by the basa player and then kicking the ball forward in between the legs of the second defender just as he arrives weaving in between them to carry the ball once more as they both turn to chase him the third defender slides to take the ball of his feet but once again the player seems two steps ahead as he calmly raises the ball up just a little past the sliding defender and also jumps to evade the tackle, he lands neatly before the ball and stops the ball from bouncing before firing a rocket shot past the keeper right into the net.
Half the room erupts with shouts of goallllll along with the tv commentator while some lament and the rest put their hands on their hands their mouth wide open in shock and disbelief. I was among the third, I couldn't believe it, it was astonishing, mesmerising, magical to say the least.
This is... this is really... wow was all that could come out of my lips, this is real life football i thought to myself, what I saw was something I thought could only happen in movies cartoons or anime not in real life.

The players finally return to their positions after the celebration as the match kicks off once again with madid players passing the ball back as their attacker run down the flanks of the pitch once again they cross the ball from the middle of the pitch to the flank landing in front of one of their attackers on the left who outpaces the basa player and gets to the ball first immediately crossing the ball once again to their ace renaldo who is farther from the 18 yard box too far to test the keeper but without hesitation he shoots the ball as it flies like a rocket right to the back of the net away from the hands of the keepers and the bodies of the defenders shielding the net.
