Chapter 20 - Leaving The House

Feeling the powerful spiritual energy running through his body made him smile like a teenager that received his first gift on Christmas Day.

"Ah, what a life... I'll definitely be super OP in the future."

After wallowing in his joy for a couple of minutes, he finally managed to calm himself down as he quickly spoke:

"Status."

After looking at his status and confirming for himself that the system recognized his breakthrough, he finally breathed a sigh of relief as he finally stood up from his cross-legged position on the cultivation mat.

"All right, guess it's about time for me to get out for some air."

Huang Shi stretched his limbs for a bit before opening the door to his room and walking out, as he finally started to take a look at the place he was staying at.

It was a small but clean courtyard, filled with greenery and a small pool outside filled with tiny fishes and a stone arch bridge that elevated the ambiance of the house.

The courtyard itself didn't have any other people present because Huang Shi had refused any servants; his reason being that he didn't want other people sticking into his business—i.e., disturbing him when he brought over his so-called whores.

Obviously, that was complete bullshit; he just didn't want other people finding out about his secrets, especially with his special relationship with his stepmother.

As for when exactly he transferred to this courtyard, it was actually a few days prior to his cultivation retreat, when he asked his father to give him a place to stay because he wanted to move out.

His reason, once again, was complete bullshit, as he said that he got bored of staying in the palace and that it would be easier for him to go out and have fun if he had his own place.

His father, on the other hand, was more than happy to have the little scoundrel Huang Shi out of his house, and so he quickly agreed, giving him this small courtyard within the confines of the sect.

After exiting from his courtyard wearing his stylish Cinderveil Robes, he quickly walked around the place, trying to figure out where the location of his destination was.

"Where was it again? Fuck, I should have asked Mei'er before she left last night."

With a scowl on his face, he continued walking around the sect, taking particular note of the expressions of the people around him.

When members of the Azure Dragon Sect saw him, their reactions were largely the same, which is that they would look at him with arrogance and disdain, as if they were not looking at one of the sons of the sect master, but at a street rat that they couldn't even bother killing.

The reason for this was quite obvious; up until just recently, he was basically just a scoundrel that would waste his money on women and booze and had no care for cultivation whatsoever.

In fact, him being crippled didn't really change anything in him.

Being killed is an entirely different matter, though… Huang Shi's expression turned a bit cold at this before continuing his train of thought.

The remaining few that had some tact were those lowly servants of the sect, where his status as the son of the sect master still held sway.

Truth be told, if he really was a wastrel, his life wasn't really that bad.

Considering he was the son of the sect master of the Azure Dragon Sect, even if he spent his life on hedonism, as long as he stayed within the sect, he could basically do whatever he wanted.

Unfortunately for you scum, I'm not the same Huang Shi! As his eyes glittered with cold malevolence, something finally happened while he was too distracted with his thoughts.

BUMP

While remaining completely still, as if nothing had hit him at all, the person who just got dropped on the ground instead snarled his teeth as he spoke with rage:

"Who dares bump into this young master? Do you have a death wish?"

Soft murmurs suddenly spread through the crowd as looks of pity appeared in the eyes of the bystanders, clearly thinking the exact same thing:

You just had to bump into this scumbag?

Huang Shi, on the other hand, had a completely nonchalant expression as if nothing even happened before offering his hand to help him stand up.

"Here, sorry about bumping into you; I was lost in thought."

Hearing the words of apology coming from this scoundrel's mouth, the people around them suddenly went quiet, as if a pin had dropped, as expressions of shock appeared on their faces.

"Young master Huang Shi actually apologized?"

"Is the world ending tomorrow?"

"Is he sick or something?"

Hearing the words coming from his surroundings, his expression changed as his face twitched before a single thought roared through his mind:

Damn you, Huang Shi! What the hell did you do for people to think of you like this?!

Unfortunately for Huang Shi, it seemed that the person he had run into wasn't any normal person either, as this was actually Tian Ju—one of the most powerful outer sect disciples of the Azure Dragon Sect—and this person was known to be quite feisty.

"Oho? So it was young master Huang! After your so-called 'injury,' I thought you would continue to hole up inside the palace! Aren't you afraid of running into trouble out here?!"

When Huang Shi heard these words coming from this person's mouth, he suddenly felt a bit awkward as he knew exactly where this was going.

Fuck... it's a villain mob.
