Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Saving the Elves

At 4 AM, that was when a person was most sleepy and their vigilance was at its lowest. Even the hooligans looking for fun on the streets were either lying on a woman's belly or drunk in an alley.

Li Fan was waiting for this exact moment.

Last night, he had already found out which inn the Slave Merchant was staying at.

He had also already planned his route of action.

Li Fan got up and quietly left the stable. He carefully moved through the shadows of the streets.

He didn't know if it was talent, but Li Fan felt extremely suited for such sneaky actions. He wasn't discovered by anyone along the way and smoothly arrived at the inn where the Slave Merchant was located.

The inn in front of him had two floors and was surrounded by a wall.

Li Fan hid in the corner of the wall, his breathing a little hurried.

Sin Town didn't care about laws; there was no concept of paying with one's life for killing someone.

And if Li Fan's upcoming actions were discovered, the best outcome would be to be beaten to death on the spot.

Therefore, he was extremely nervous at this moment.

But Li Fan also knew very well that the more critical the moment, the calmer one needed to be.

While adjusting his breathing to calm himself, he began to analyze the current situation.

The Slave Merchant was not alone. A merchant would never dare to come to a place like Sin Town by himself, otherwise, his body would be found in the wilderness the next day.

So the Slave Merchant must have brought subordinates. During the day, Li Fan had seen several burly thugs guarding the prison cart, and they should be the Slave Merchant's subordinates.

Although Li Fan was not thin, he naturally couldn't compare to those thugs whose arms were thicker than his legs.

Therefore, the first thing to do was to avoid being discovered by the other party, and choosing this time period to come was also for this reason.

The second was to determine the Elf's location. Only by knowing where the Elf was could he find a way to save the Elf.

Thinking this, Li Fan quietly climbed onto the wall outside the inn and glanced at the situation inside the inn.

Li Fan was lucky.

He didn't find the Slave Merchant; he should be sound asleep in his room at the inn.

The prison cart carrying the Elf was immediately visible, parked next to the inn's stable, and as expected, three strong men were guarding it.

However, it was 4 AM, and the three strong men were already so sleepy that their heads were tilted, sound asleep. They wouldn't wake up unless someone approached.

"Hoo…"

Li Fan breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this; the situation before him was within his expectations.

According to his plan, all he had to do next was to deliver the Emergency Pill into the Elf's hands without waking the strong men.

Thinking this, Li Fan climbed onto the top of the wall, steadied himself, and then pulled out a… slingshot from his in arms.

The slingshot was something he made temporarily, using a tree branch and the latex tube from the first aid kit used for tying blood vessels.

Li Fan played with this thing a lot when he was a child; he didn't know how many birds had suffered at his hands because of it.

He hadn't used it for many years. Although he had practiced beforehand, whether it would succeed was still an unknown.

Li Fan calmed his breathing and placed the Emergency Pill on the slingshot.

After taking a deep breath, he aimed.

The wall was not far from the Elf's position, less than ten meters.

Li Fan could even see the deep cleavage on her chest through the Elf's loose clothes.

With a soft "whoosh."

Li Fan released the slingshot. The Emergency Pill traced a tiny arc, then passed through the cage, landing perfectly on the Elf's chest, even sinking deep into that profound cleavage.

Li Fan was also stunned by this; it was a "jackpot."

Fortunately, the plan didn't go wrong because of this. The entire operation made no sound, and the Emergency Pill's precise 'deep dive' was enough to wake the Elf.

Sure enough.

The next moment, the Elf suddenly opened her eyes. Unlike before, her eyes at this moment radiated an extremely sharp gaze, like an experienced warrior.

However, this sharp gaze only lasted for a few seconds, after which the Elf's eyes slowly dimmed.

The Elf returned to how she looked when Li Fan first saw her: desperate and powerless, like a flower separated from its soil.

She was too severely injured fighting the bandits and was already on the verge of death. Otherwise, how could she have been captured by this group of Slave Merchants disguised as bandits?

Now, the Elf only wanted to end all of this quickly so she could return to the embrace of Mother Nature and the Elf God.

Thinking this, the Elf clasped her hands over her chest, intending to pray. However, with this movement, she also discovered the anomaly on her chest.

The Elf's expression changed. She reached into the cleavage of her chest and fumbled around, finally pulling out a pill.

The Elf looked at the Emergency Pill in her hand with confusion. Although she didn't recognize the Emergency Pill, she could smell an unusually pure herbal scent from it.

Due to the Elf Race's affinity with nature, she could analyze that this pill seemed to be for healing.

The Elf looked around in confusion and quickly noticed Li Fan squatting on the wall, waving at her.

Li Fan smiled at this, silently pointed to the Emergency Pill in the Elf's hand, then pointed to his own mouth, making a swallowing motion.

After doing this, Li Fan jumped off the wall without looking back and quietly slipped away, doing so with great decisiveness.

In Li Fan's opinion, he didn't need to do anything further for the upcoming events.

During the Slave Merchant's conversation with a passerby during the day, Li Fan heard an important piece of information.

To prevent slaves from escaping, Slave Merchants often put Restriction Collars on them, especially for powerful slaves.

The Restriction Collars would suppress most of the slave's abilities and strength.

It was precisely because of these Restriction Collars that powerful slaves had no way of escaping.

However, the Elf in the cage, despite possessing great strength, had not been fitted with a Restriction Collars due to her severe injuries.

The reason, naturally, was that the Slave Merchant was worried that the severely injured Elf would die under the suppression of the Restriction Collars.

Moreover, the Elf was so severely injured that she couldn't even walk steadily, so a Restriction Collars was simply unnecessary.

This gave Li Fan an opportunity.

It was conceivable that as long as he healed the Elf's injuries, an Elf evaluated as powerful by the system should have no problem escaping.

So Li Fan's plan was to deliver his Emergency Pill to the Elf.

A very simple plan, but with a high success rate.

The Elf stared blankly at the spot where Li Fan disappeared, only regaining her senses after a long while.

She hesitantly looked at the pill in her hand. Soon after, her emerald-like eyes suddenly lit up, and she swallowed the pill in her hand.

The next moment, a warm current began to surge within the Elf's body, and her injuries were healing at a visible speed.

"How is this possible? Such injuries, perhaps only the sacred medicine of our clan would have such a noticeable effect?"

The Elf looked at her body in disbelief. In just a few seconds, her injuries had recovered completely, and even some old ailments from previous injuries seemed to have been cured at this moment.

At this moment, the Elf felt like she was at the peak of her life since birth.

"Who exactly is he?"

The Elf only pondered this question for a moment before giving up. The most urgent matter was to escape first.

The Elf cast her gaze upon the three strong men outside the cage, her eyes slowly turning cold at this moment.

At the same time, surges of emerald green energy began to gather around the Elf.

"Level Two Magic, Vines… Strangle."

As the Elf coldly snorted, the emerald green energy silently surged into the ground. Three vines rapidly broke through the earth and fiercely wrapped around the necks of the three strong men.

"Mmm…"

The three sleeping strong men instantly woke up, but the vines had already tightly wrapped around their necks and mouths. They couldn't even let out a wail.

A minute later, the bodies of the three strong men softly collapsed to the ground.

The Elf took a breath, and the next moment, emerald green energy appeared again, wrapping around the iron lock on the cage.

A moment later, with a "click," the iron lock opened.

The Elf carefully opened the iron door of the cage. After confirming that there was no one around, she skillfully made a few jumps and leaped onto the inn's wall.

The Elf didn't linger at all, running non-stop towards the valley entrance.

It wasn't until she reached the valley entrance that the Elf finally stopped.

Her glowing emerald eyes looked back towards Sin Town, and then she scanned the surroundings several times, seemingly searching for someone's figure.

The Elf was naturally looking for Li Fan's figure.

That human saved her and even gave her such precious medicine. He must have had some ulterior motive.

Since he had an ulterior motive, then he should be waiting for her at this only exit.

However, after a long while, the Elf still didn't see Li Fan's figure.

It was only then that a hint of confusion appeared in the Elf's eyes.

"He didn't come, why? Is there really a human who is willing to save an Elf without expecting anything in return? I seem to have seen him during the day; the aura about him is different from ordinary humans. Could he have some connection with our Elf Race?"

A hint of confusion appeared in the Elf's eyes. Humans and Elves had been at war for countless years, and countless Elf Race members had been abducted and sold. The hatred between them had long become irreconcilable.

Even seeing it with her own eyes, she still couldn't believe that a human would help an Elf without expecting anything in return.

Ultimately, the Elf did not stay too long. Seeing that Li Fan did not appear, she finally took a deep look in the direction of Sin Town, turned around, and ran towards the west side of the Sinful Forest, which was the direction of the Elf Empire.
