~Author's POV~
The black luxury sedan rolled to a smooth stop in front of Beta Nicholas' estate, gravel crunching softly beneath its tyres. The driver stepped out first, rounding the car just in time for the back door to swing open.
Troy stepped out without waiting.
He lifted his backpack, then tossed it over to the maid at the side. A startled gasp fell off her lips, and she immediately bowed, her head lowered in submission as he strode past her like she did not exist.
His posture was rigid and his jaw tight. The storm brewing inside him followed every sharp step he took toward the mansion doors.
The moment he crossed the threshold, the butler hurried forward.
"Welcome home, Young Master—"
Troy stopped abruptly and turned, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
"You were supposed to come greet me," he said coldly.
The butler froze. "My apologies, Young Master. I was occupied with—"
"Save it," Troy snapped.
