Chapter 25: "The Price of Secrets"
Our story begins from where it had ended…
The Evil System Window spoke,
"Master, what should we do now?"
Kartik laughed… but there was only darkness in that laughter.
"We kept playing with the fate of others… and never realized when fate started playing with us."
The Evil System asked,
"So… can we do nothing?"
A red glow appeared in Kartik's eyes.
"If I can't do anything… then how can I call myself Evil?
I want to rule the entire world.
I need every detail about the Ghost Knight.
His enemy, his ally… not a single secret should remain hidden."
The Evil System Window replied,
"Master, you don't have enough villain points for that."
Kartik asked in shock,
"What about the points we got after killing the System Window?"
The Evil System Window said,
"Every time you change the laws, points are consumed.
And the data you are asking for belongs to a human whose information requires a huge amount of points."
Kartik asked,
"How many points will it cost?"
System:
"10,000."
Kartik said,
"What is so special about his details that they require so many villain points?
We didn't even get that many points after killing a System Window.
Why does a side character cost so much?"
The Evil System replied,
"He is extremely powerful.
His data has been kept secret, that's why it requires so many points."
Kartik asked,
"How many points do we have in total?"
The Evil System Window answered,
"800 points, Master."
Kartik said,
"Good. Then let's earn some points."
Kartik ordered,
"Teleport me to First Stage Earth."
The Evil System Window asked,
"But Master, what are we going to do there?"
Kartik replied with black eyes,
"You'll find out once we get there.
Do as I say.
Let's have some fun."
The Evil System Window opened a gate.
Kartik stepped inside it.
The scene inside the novel shifts…
The view turns to Navi.
He is in a hospital, staring at his hand.
He looks sad, missing the System because the mark on his hand has disappeared.
Navi struggles to stand up and says,
"Whoever did this to you… will regret it."
He looks at the System Window bracelet.
Navi stands in front of a mirror.
Instead of his face, he sees a dark shadow smiling back at him.
The Dark Shadow speaks,
"You won't be able to face this cruel world.
Look, this world has taken away the thing you loved the most."
Navi replies,
"She was not a thing… her name is Asees."
The Dark Shadow says,
"Give me control over your entire body.
Then you will see the destruction I can cause.
Whatever you desire will be beneath your feet."
At that moment, a nurse enters the room and says,
"Sir, someone has come to meet you.
He has been waiting for two days.
Shall I send him in?"
Navi answers,
"Yes, bring him in."
It is revealed that the visitor is none other than the beggar, Jake Lee.
Navi says,
"How did you come here?"
Jake Lee scolds him,
"Why do you always get caught in trouble?"
He grabs the MC's ear, makes him sit on the bed and says,
"Do you know how worried I was?
From now on, you are not going anywhere.
You will stay with me."
Navi says,
"Please, Master, it hurts.
Alright, I'll be careful from now on."
Suddenly, someone enters the room and says,
"Excuse me… may I come in?"
It is the son of the Tiger Guild's leader.
He looks at them and says,
"May I talk to you?"
Both of them are shocked.
Such an important man has come to talk to them.
Billy says,
"Don't be afraid…
I only came to talk."
And with that, the chapter ends.
