The memory of his words from last night echoed inside her, with her mind working, Adele's heart started beating faster.
What if... maybe, by that, I can address both my problems at once? It would be like... a double win. Adele warmed at the possibilities.
Adele was suddenly struck by a brilliant idea. Or maybe it was a ridiculous idea, but an idea nonetheless.
Before her mind had a chance to figure out which, she decided to act upon it. She pulled her phone up and dialed the number on the card. It rang once. Twice. Three times.
Then a male voice answered—but not as deep as his, which she remembered from last night.
